PAUPERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE SUCCESSFUL

An argument ensued between a young girl and her mother. The caring mother wanted her to be schooled and become an important person in the society some day but this young girl belonged to another school of thought.

Her mother, a maid for a wealthy family, the young girl believes she doesn't need an education because according to her, the daughter of a maid will eventually become a maid and the son of a driver will eventually become a driver.

Whoever told her this, I don't have an idea. It is surprising that most of us belong to this school of thought whether knowingly or unknowingly. Our parents might not have been maids or drivers ( no offence to those in that vocation) but we have pegged our success to a level not far from that of our parents one way or the other.

When some are encouraged to aspire high, they will even go as far as telling anyone that cares to listen that no one has ever gotten to that level in their family, so why will their story be different? Just because your parents never owned a car doesn't mean you shouldn't aspire to own one. We have seen the child of a farmer becoming the director of a bank. We have also seen a child who was being tossed around between relatives simply because she wanted to go to school and become a better person, she went on to become the one that family members look unto for financial assistance. She wasn't the only child among her siblings that was tossed about but the difference between her and the others is that she dared to work hard. She worked hard and today she is reaping the fruit of success.

Some people don't even have hands, yet they have decided to be a force to reckon with in their generation. Never let your background or circumstances determine how far you go in life.
