Its same thing at the end of the day, yes corruption is a big problem and how do we check mate it? You cant give a goat your yam to watch over it and expect to get it back whole. So long as oil money which other regions contribute nothing to, is been shared around freely corruption would be rife and no one would hold their leaders to ransom, conversely in places were things work taxes is the main source of revenue and the people are bound to hold their leaders accountable since they pay heavily for services, its simple as that, the govt in turn has to invest heavily in human capital devt in order to create more jobs and boost revenues, how did china, japan, india, philipines make it? You dont get my point, oil money comes wihout the sweat of the average nigerian hence the politicians can waste it and the public would not be worried so much compared to if whats been wasted comes directly from their sweats and pockets...if you pay heavy taxes to your local govt council and they are supposed to be responsible for roads, health care, security, education etc would you let these sectors be grossly mismanaged and do nothing about it? Thats what restructuring is about, the people should be responsible for how govt works and the govt should be responsible for what the people gets, everyone should get what he deserves, depending on what he puts in.
