•Increases Acceptance fees from N21000 to N81000

•School fees rises to N250000

The Delta State University , Abraka has approved the 2017/2018 academic session new intake acceptance fees as follows;

*All professional courses such as medicine & Surgery, Pharmacy , Nursing , Law, Engineering shall attracts the sum of Eighty one thousand naira (#81,000) for Deltans and one hundred and one thousand naira for non Deltans (#101,000)as its acceptance fee.
*All non professional courses such as education, sciences, social sciences, Arts, management science , agriculture and others shall attracts the sum of thirty one thousand naira (#31,000) for Deltans and fifty one thousand naira (#51,000) for non Deltans as its acceptance fee.

From the above details , this means that the Delta State University, Abraka school fees will attract above two hundred and fifty thousand naira (#250,000) for Deltans and three hundred to four hundred thousands for non Deltans

Reaction:
The President UPU Youth wing worldwide Hon. Comrade Ovie Igho , a former Delta State University Students Union Government President, an indigene , a Pan Niger Delta youth leader has directed the vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka Professor Victor Peretomode to with immediate effects revisit the 2017/2018 academic session acceptance fee/school fee to avoid to total show down of the university. He warned the school management and senate council to behave like fathers and mothers to their children who cares and protect their wards irrespective of linage.

Because if the school management and senate council do not care about the less privilege wards who also attend the university, that is they are calling for the university close down because the university was established to bring close education to the people and encourage every child to earn tertiary certificate even with minimal money and not to discourage us.

He also call on the student bodies such as Students Union Government, JCC/NANS to step up their mandate mechanisms to protect and fight against any form of oppression, humiliation and extortions by the any institutional management because they are be voted to act as intermediary between the school management and the students and not other way around.

Though , he said he is on the top of issue as well to prefer the best ways forward to accommodate all qualified or admitted students into the school without any inches of financial constrains as the proposed fees has already threaten many to withdraw even when they have not be admitted.

The President described the actions of the school management and senate council as mischievous, barbaric and evil due to high level of greed, corruption and avarice in public offices. But we will not accept this nonsense and injustice. Its a big shame and disgrace to the delta state government to deprived Deltans of education due to selfishness, wickedness and greed of some individuals enrichment. Meanwhile, he said the community has resolved to push adhesively without fear or favor of any kind, he asserted.

Delta State University Abraka is now an extra-ordinary neighbour to the oppressed people of Delta State. Education in Okowa's Delta is now for the Rich. Certainly the Igho Aria syndrome is now entrenched in the Educational Sector.

Delta stress university.... It use to be 3k ooo, chai lord have mercy

Even FUNAI do increaement.
Freshers are paying N50K as Security levy, N44K school fees and N40k for hostel. Total of 134K

Universities need adequate funding to meet up with other international universities.As it stands,Nigeria do not have the money(so they said sha)to fund universities.The only way to meetup with adequate funding together with the little Gov't gives them is to increase students' school fees.School fees will continue to increase until government sits up.
