Ogaonos: Trade not aid is how nations grow I agree. I don't know how well the last to projects turned out. The world Bank doesn't care too much seeing they not doing much different considering Africa hasn't made any major jumps like Asia. 1 Like |

Cope1:I don't think the world bank chief actually said that. Ezekweinsili, who was then deputy to the chief, recently cleared the air on the issue in series of twists at her twitter account. She admitted being part of the discussion and debunked the rumours going round now that Buhari asked world bank to focus only on northern parts. NB: Buhari adversaries are not from east only. Some could be found in the north too. Yet, not all eaterners are Buhari adversaries. 3 Likes 1 Share |

7lives: Your curse will be hard for god to implement. I say this as you seem to assume that majority of Nigerians would prefer to shrink our current 36 states back to fewer regions. However, at the 2014 Confab organized by GEJ, creation of additional 18 states to bring us to 54 states was the conclusion. If god will answer your prayers, the curse may as well catch us all. The real problem is that there is a crisis of interest between the elite of all ethnic groups and the mass of Nigerians. The elite favour state creation and the status quo while fewer regions with less government is what is in the best interest of the people. The people don't know their real enemies so they adopt whatever foes the elite present them with hence Hausas hate Igbo who hate Yoruba who in tandem hate the others too. We wallow in this while the elite across ethnic divide get what they want. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Blue3k:Stop being repetitious like a child! The list was only received after the media and Nigerians became aware of the presidents ethocentric request to world bank. That outrage prompted the govt to release this memo to mask the perceived inequality not only by Igbos but by well meaning Nigerians. Prior today and in recent times, this govt has not mentioned any region or state beneficary of world bank projects to entire public. It is not the duty of citizens to check world bank proposed projects for Nigeria,it's rather the duty of the government to liase with relevant bodies and release such reports to the public and beneficaries of such aid. It is apparently easy for one to lose rational sense of reason in the face of prejudice, resentment and bigotry. There is no way this Nation will move forward as long as people like you harbour dangerous sentiments and are unable to call a spade a spade. The outrage coming after the president's statement is rather normal and i would've questioned people's conscience if they never reacted to it. Why is the North getting attention when such is badly needed in the Niger delta in 2017 and the South East in the 70s? Did Nigeria and World bank ever attempted to focus on post war Eastern Nigeria? And even when the selections are made, the north is consistently overrepresented while other get least representation by virtue of low number of states. Oby Ezekwesili already highlighted some of this issues. If your leader wants to be perceived as straight forward,he should run an inclusive govt, simple. Focus on the North, Focus on All regions and don't drag others down because of whatever problems existing in the North. |

KemjikaEme: Lol its not your duty to be an informed citezen that must be IPOB logic. Next they have given press releases the RAMP has website. It's not your duty to know what your talking about but it doesn't stop you from wailing without researching like the rest of your comrades. I'll give you links since you seems like you never heard of these projects before hand. Please stop pretending you actually cared about world Bank projects it's only Buhari comments that made you start looking into it. Military coupist suck no big mystery. You can ask me shy the didn't develope north, why they killed railroads, why theyou didn't diversify economy. It's funny you have to go back to 70's to claim victimhood. I guess you couldn't prove your world Bank claim of victimhood. Lastly RAMP been around since 2006. You never heard much about it till Buhari. Ironically he did his part enlightening like you wished. Blue3k:What is victimhood? Victimhood that a post war region deserved same attention given to the North? Victimhood that the situation in the Nigerdelta including recent activities in Ogoni also derserve same fair share of attention? Where is the victimhood in making valid references in consideration of the president's recent remarks? The victim and victimhood narrative is practically used in ignorance and it's not far away from your bigoted perceptive of the South Eastern part of Nigeria. Yes,not everyone is aware of the activities of the international organizations in Nigeria,so it's only appropriate that the government inform it's citizens, put them on social media and publish them on newspaper for the average literate man on the streets to read. It's only hypocritical to release this one thinking it will cushion the effects of yesterday news. Who knows how much more Buhari said to other organizations that is yet to come out in the light. I honestly don't understand why you choose to tag, berate and lash Ipob in this issue when a lot of non Igbos and non Igbos have condemned the president's remarks as can be seen on the media and on the streets. So why lampoon Ipob for Nigerians criticism of a miserable and nepotist administration? That's the height of idiocy. 1 Like |

7lives: Stop deceiving ur self intentionally, If it was unintentional, Then u need to educate urself. Gowon was the one that ended the economic aspect of regionalism in nigeria, At the same time they introduced quota system. For the 6 months Aguiyi Ironsi ruled nigeria, The 3 regions were on their own, they kept 70% of funds generated from the resources in their respective regions n gave 30% to the FG. It was under gowon that regions started receiving hand outs from FG |

Meanwhile to pay back the money, 95% of the resources will be extracted from SE & SS, the least beneficiaries. That is why i ask the people of those regions, WHY DO YOU STILL ALLOW OIL TO FLOW FREELY FROM YOUR LAND? You have no other enemy than your gross ignorance in allowing oil to flow from your land to be used in enslaving you further. Anyhow, it's hard for folks to see these things clearly and stop attacking Fulani for their inaction from doing the needful. 1 Like |

Big Shame to our political class and elites. If they had use the money generated from Nigeria we would have long become like the asian tigers of which we will depends less on the so called world bank. We have looted and wasted our plenty and now we are happy to pick crumbs from under the table all in the name of world bank project. Let our northern leaders promote child spacing and family planning and then plan for the growth and development of the northern youth. This so called almajiri problem in the north is posing a challenge to the development of the northern states in Nigeria. |

KemjikaEme: YOU IPOB'a are confused you move goal post every time you're asked to explain yourself. I lampoon you guys because you're frauds and posers. I criticized you on world Bank argumen because it doesn't match reality. You don't care about these type of projects and never did. You should simply just say your mad at Buhari because of perceived victimhood. The reports where out there online and on social media yet you didn't know. So you don't want to talk about world Bank or program you want to tell me about the civil war, media attention and oil clean up. Focusing on NE makes sense after war. The oil spill clean up was delayed and there's plenty of attention on it. You only brought up these real issues like oil because you got exposed on your world Bank point and no media coverage point. Since Nigeria messed up in SE I guess NE should have sane 40 years after in IPOB mind. Ps: I noticed you don't have any rebuttals about World Bank projects. I don't necessarily disagree about other issues so whatever. |
Re: 18 States That Will Benefit From $500m World Bank Projects by KemjikaEme: 8:15pm On Oct 14, 2017 |
Blue3k:Fantastic display of more idiocy! All Nigerians that have spoken against Buhari's remarks are Ipob members? What a myopic sense of reasoning! This is just a merry go round argument that will only keep exposing your bias towards Igbos and well meaning Nigerians that speak up against evil. So you find the need to justify the attention on the north and deliberately create excuses for the absence of such attention in high intensity trauma regions because they are igbos and Niger deltans? Billions have flowed into the North mostly stolen by her politicians yet there is no progress but Buhari insist on chanelling World bank funds to same region while neglecting the need to establish projects in the East and elsewhere. No, people will raise their voice and it has obviously pushed them to release a list to douse the tension. I have no time for bigots like you who justify all sorts of unequality! |
