More than four hundred disabled persons, indigent women and children have received succour form the wife of the state Governor, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano.

She made the donations when she visited Anambra West Council Area as part of the ongoing tour of Local Government Areas in the state.

The Governor's wife who was impressed by the warm reception accorded her by the people of the area during the visit, thanked them for their support and contributions to the Obiano government, urging them to maintain the tempo and not to be deceived by desperate politicians during the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

Chief Mrs Obiano, however emphasized the need for women to avoid total dependence on their husbands for survival, advising them to acquire skills so as to be able to contribute for the well being of their families.

In his speech, the Transition Committee Chairman of the local government, Honourable Collins Nwabunwanne, while appreciating the governor's wife on the visit, observed that Governor Obiano has performed excellently in his first term, expressing optimism that when he is reelected on November eighteenth, he will break more record in governance, and assured the readiness of the people to ensuring the governor's triumph in the election.

Speaking on behalf of the women in the area, the wife of the Transition Committee Chairman, Mrs Loretta Nwabunwanne, thanked the Governor's wife for uplifting the living standard of the less privileged in the state, especially the women and physically challenged, through her nongovernmental organization, the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, listing big engine boats, bridges, health centres, and police station in one of the communities, as part of remarkable things the area has benefited from the present administration, and reaffirmed their loyalty to APGA government.

On their parts, the APGA National Woman Leader, Honourable Mrs Ada Orji-Nwanyanwu, and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters who hails from the area, Hon. Chukwuemeka Ilojoo, while describing Governor Obiano as God's gift to the state, said Ndi Anambra cannot afford losing him as their Governor, as according to them he is the envy of other States in the federation, as it is only his government that pays workers salaries promptly every month, among other things.

Contributing, one of the traditional rulers in the area, Igwe Anthony Onyekwere, of Owelle community said it is only in Obiano administration that the rural dwellers were given full sense of belonging in governance, making emphasis on the twenty million naira project which all communities in the state benefited from, and disclosed that traditional rulers in the area are working collectively to ensure that the Governor is returned to the Governor's seat come November eighteenth.

Distribution of gift items to the less privileged in the area by the Governor's wife formed the highpoint of the event.
