TYPES OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS
When you make the decision to build,either for rent or occupation,it is neccessary you know the different types of residential buildings,so you are properly guided in your choice.The different types are:
1)Tenements:These are single room apartments or "face-me-i-face-you as laymen call it.They are usually occupied by separate families and located on opposite sides of a central corridor sharing a common kitchen and sanitary facilities.
2)Flats:This a residential unit with all the rooms on one floor,complete with it own kitchen and sanitary facilities.This can come in the form of a bungalow or blocks of flats.
3)Maisonettes:This building type,erroneously referred to as "DUPLEX" by laymen has the rooms on more than one floor.The kitchen,sitting/dining rooms and guest bedroom occupy the ground floor while the bedrooms are on the upper floor where it is safer and quieter.
