Morning nairalander, I've been facing this problem of "windows can't connect to this network" on my laptop lately. I've tried all possibilities but to no avail.
To cut the story short, I reset the laptop last evening (reset without deleting my personal files), eventually, my system can now connect to my phone hotspot, but it disconnects frequently and reconnect any time it wishes.
My major concern now is dat, the laptop can't still browse after it is connected to hotspot (like d laptop isn't connected to any network laptop @all).
Why is the network disconnecting and reconnecting(sometimes disconnects permanently, I have to reconnect it my sef)?
Phone hotspot is working fine when it's connected to other gadgets.

Engineers in the house, ur help is needed asap

Is d PC windows 10 follow come or u installed it itself.
Was d wireless working before (when u bought) if yes ?

Windows 10 home. Everything was working fine b4...
I installed d OS myself, in fact I've reformatted the system, but to my greatest surprise, it can't detect my friend phone's hotspot... It can detects mine and also connects to it but still not browsing... So I'd to format my phone.. I'll check it again during day break to see how it goes

Just reinstall d OS go to windows old and collect ur files back

Solution 2 and d best solution go to system protection and pick a restore point .of the time when the PC was working fine ....and restore it to that day simple

u have not installed the right drivers for the wireless device......what the model of your laptop?

I don't understand d guy story again .

First d best part is to go back to ur previous operating system .that's d system was working fine before maybe windows 8 or so or windows 7 . install d OS and make sure everything is working fine like the wireless and so don't install any app. Just drivers only .

If everything is works fine den its from d operating system u installed pls crosscheck if u installed 32bit or 64bit of windows 10.

Now find d latest version of windows 10 and do fresh installation.
Update ur drivers through device manager with internet on .
I don't know how good u are but like u said u installed it urself maybe u made a mistake some where

Just like windows 8/8.1, windows 10 will automatically drive the the network..

Use the troubleshooting tool to see what the problem is. From there you can know how to solve the problem.


2. Depending on your type of laptop, the network comes with 2 cable that is connected to the WiFi adapter.

One is main and the other is auxiliary.

If the main is not connected properly, the network won't receive strong signal, it will disconnect often.

That's why I was asking if you've repaired your laptop before.. It might have been tampered with.

But use the troubleshooting feature to troubleshoot when you get the "windows can't connect to this network"

My previous laptop Acer couldn't connect to my friend infinix note 4 hotspot but was able to connect to my tecno l8plus hotspot and any other phone .

D PC couldn't connect to modems too.

Until I downgrade d version of the windows 10 . den it was able to work with modem .

That's y I told him to check his OS

The system came wit win10(it's 64bit based architecture)
Everything was working fine, even after several reformatting... This problem started of late... And I think I'd figured out d problem... I'll upload a pic later 2nite

But I have seen laptops connecting to modem on windows 10\home too.

To solve ur problem to the best . backup all important information and data u have in an external hard disk .
Delete all partition in ur PC and make d the who disk .

During installation of windows 10 format d disk and do clean installation.

Before then go to micro soft to download the latest version of windows 10.


Now after ur installation of the os. Go to the website of the laptop .be is Acer HP or dell .locate ur laptop and download all the drivers for ur laptop both the old and updated drivers .but name them properly to know which is which.

Now start installing d drivers starting from d older versions.
Do this especially on wireless and audio drivers .

You can drive d latest driver on other one like ur graphics or touch pad .


Sometimes latest drivers don't suit some computer .

Make sure u drive the card reader .

This will consume ur data but I know it will surely work .

I've actually gotten a solution to d problem by disabling one of d wireless drivers

Lol u see u didn't tell us the whole gist .it happened to my trackpad I installed double driver and the touchpad stopped working I unistall one and restart viola.! !
