A 38-year old goalkeeper has tragically passed away after a slight collision with teammate Ramon Rodrigues and onrushing Semen Padang striker Marcel Sacramento when he fell off his line to challenge for the ball.

Huda went down gripping his face and was rushed from the Surajaya Stadium in Sidorejo, in Lamongan, to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

According to The Sun, the late Huda was in action for his side in the Indonesia Super League against Semen Padang when the episode occurred amid the first half of the game.

Huda was pronounced dead at 5.15pm, surrounded by the Persela squad who were with him at the Regional General Hospital in Lamongan.

The club legend took a substantial thump from his defender towards the finish of the opening first 45 minutes as he was hurrying out to collect the ball. Paramedics quickly hurried onto the pitch to his aide, but tragically Huda surrendered to his injuries not long after.
