Fayose, Bode George, Ladoja, others meet over PDP’s national leader in Lagos

Battle on who to become next Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader has began among powerful members who were to determine credible person for the seat, the race which led to meeting of Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, PDP former South West vice chairman, Bode George, Oyo state former governor, Rasheed Ladoja and other strong members of the party, in Lagos.

Others present at the meeting which commenced at about 9 pm and held at Renaissance Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, were former minister for Education, Dapo Sarumi and a chieftain of the party, Tajudeen Oladipo.

However, two key stakeholders, Ogun state former governor, Gbenga Daniel and former minister of education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, who have both disclosed their intention to contest for chairmanship seat of the party, were not present at the meeting which lasted for hours on Monday.

The Guild gathered that the absence of Daniel at the meeting was due to his ongoing preparation for the launch of his chairmanship campaign scheduled for Wednesday in Abuja.

Speaking after the meeting, Fayose, the convener of the meeting, disclosed that the meeting dwell on how South West could go to convention with united front and possibly find a way aspirants can concede or step down for each other.

“Our aim is to take a position ahead of the convention. We don’t want to be attend the convention in December with divided house. Our aim is to go to the convention and come back in joy; not to be disappointed.
