On Thursday, 28th of September, 2017; Corps Members Serving in Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, and Akoko S/West led a Peaceful Procession for the rehabilitation of Oke-Oka Road, Akoko South west LGA, Ondo State.
This is a road that has claim lot of lives and properties. The road is in a bad state and needs urgent Intervention.

Corps Liaison Inspector (Adekunle Ajasin University,Akungba Akoko) and leader of the peaceful Procession's Speech
MESSAGE OF THE CLI
Good day Gentlemen Corp Members, Citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Members of the Press and all National Dignitaries.
The purpose of our gathering today is to call the attention of the Nigerian government to the state of Oke-Oka road and to appeal to them to fix the federal roads linking Ondo and southwest to the East and Abuja, the federal capital.
We hereby plead with all relevant authorities to fix Oke-Oka road and other adjoining roads in order to save lives and properties of Nigerians, particularly serving Corp members in Akoko-South-West Local Government.
This road is filled with deadly slopes and sharp bends with a ditch beside it that has been named the “pit of hell”
Travellers from Lagos through Ondo State to Abuja and other motorist dread the terrible shape of this road because of the sharp bends and slopes, coupled with the bad state of half of the road. As a result, heavy trucks and trailers lose control consequently falling off the road into the ditch and at other times they cause havoc for oncoming cars and buses.
We are concerned about the grave state of the road if left unattended to. Failure to fix Oke -Oka road and Ipele road, will continue to lead to more loss of lives and properties.
Oke- Oka poses a major threat and a source of fear to Corp members, especially when we come for our monthly payment verification exercise.
We are aware that a great deal of awareness has been done to call the attention of government to the state of this road; however nothing has been done so far.
However, as concerned citizens, we implore and appeal to the state and the federal government, including all relevant authorities to please FIX OKE-OKA ROAD AND SAVE LIVES.
We also want to draw the attention of the relevant authorities to the fact that the death and havocs recorded at Oke-Oka can be reduced by also fixing Ipele road, an alternative road which is quite safer for heavy trucks and trailers.
Once again, we plead, as we re-emphasize that OKE-OKA ROAD AND IPELE ROAD SHOULD BE FIXED SO THAT THE SAFETY OF NIGEIRANS CAN BE ASSURED.
