In Dubai, instead of banning alcohol, they placed a heavy tax on it, meaning if you really want to drink bear, you must pay premium for it. The extra bucks made from alcohol sales are used for development.

But in most northern states, lack of economic sense make them ban everything they view as Haram but still do the worse behind the scenes. Go to the barracks, 80% of the consumers there still remain the northerners.

Now when Lagos and other states who sale alcohol generate tax, they still have to pay to the centre which would now be shared among the 36 states including this economic stupid states.

They chew tramadol like biscuits and consume benylin and codeine like water, yet they pride themselves as non consumers of alcohol. The worst part of it all is that the alcohol they banned is of health benefit if consumed in moderation (although I neither consume alcohol, smoke nor abuse drugs). However even when consumed in excess, alcohol isn't even as harmful as the drugs northerners abuse, neither is it as harmful as cigarettes.
