kharyode:They are not. FIFA best is the world player of the year. Ballon D'or is the European player award of the year, it was paired with FIFA world best from 2010- 2015 and was known as FIFA Ballon D'or (which is actually different from Ballon D'or, but same price). so anywhere you see FIFA, that states the number one award. Ballon D'or was initially for European player of the year (that's why players like Kempes, Maradona and co were not eligible), was open to none Europeans from 1995, that was why George Weah could win it, and it was open to the world at large from 2007. 1 Like |
