It is very unfortunate that all over the world, it is only in Nigeria that suicide rate is the lowest despite the suffering in the land !!!!

But even the white people does not understand the reason behind this.

We complain too much but never back it with action.

We say, the world is too hard, it is not worth living, yet no one has ever taken his life.

belo are the reasons I can think of, so if you knopw why an average Nigeria will never take their own life unlike some races in the world, abeg, write am below,

1. We are too religious
2. Some have stolen some public money and don't want another poerson to spend it
3. We are all cowards
4. We are used to suffering and smiling.
5. We blame others for our own mistakes.
6. we are never ashamed.
7. We believe in "TOMORROW GO BETTER !!!"---

Simple, Cause we're strong and God-fearing people.

So taking ur life means bravery? Or it means u taking a stand against "suffering and smiling"?! Dude, ur one sick monkey!

I know 4 Nigerians that took their lives, and one that attempted but failed. I also know onw with suicidal ideations. My point? It isnt that we have less suicide rates. Its that when it does happen, we hide them. Of all those 4, only one was made public, and even then, the family blamed their enemies for his death. We Re too scared to admit that 'igerians can be 'crazy' too so when people commit suicide in NigeriA, their family often lies about the cause of death.

Reason is simple- LG. Life's Good. No matter how tough,there's hope for the living mate.

I think because we have learned the hard way not to depend on the government and more so the idealogy of "e go better" & " I go hammer" makes suicidal life so slim.

Also a typical Nigerian loves self & life more than anything around him. However, the phenomenon that his enemies which are 'too many' are aiming for his demise or fall, catalyzes guts for survival @ all cost, not just mere surviving but 'hammering' big time, if not for anything but to shame them. 

Religion is just the matter of the mind though it contributes a quota.

@ ChinenyeN, suicide isn't "culturally acceptable" anywhere in the world. The difference is that it isn't disguised as what it isn't and people don't treat the subject like it's taboo. Being religious/God fearing does not make Nigerians less likely to commit suicide-like Aqrius Age stated, people would rather blame others or bury their head in the sand than call it what it is.

Umm, it's seen as a positive attribute for a people to have.
