Brands So Popular They Are Wrongly Used As Dictionary Words. by soulfood(m): 12:31pm On Oct 30, 2017
There are some brands, products and services that are so popular and widely used that millions wrongly use them as dictionary words to qualify other products in their class.

Here is a list of few that comes to mind now. You can add those you have been guilty of using in the past or you are still using.

1. Jeep: Jeep is a SUV type but several people call different brands of SUVs Jeep. How many times have you heard a parked SUV being called a jeep by someone?

2. Google: The google search engine is so widely used that rather than internet users say "let me search for it online", they say "let me google it online". Gradually the word search have been replaced with google.

3. Indomie: This is specific to Nigeria where several lovers of noodles refer to all brands of noodles as indomie.

4. Coke: Until recently, most beverage drinks were referred to as coke. People were often asked at parties which coke they will like to drink? As in.....LOL.
