Following the excellent academic performance by four graduating students under the Presidential Amnesty Programme at Linton University College, Malaysia an affiliate of Leeds Beckett, Coventry and University of East London, both in the United Kingdom (UK); the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (Rtd) has again stressed the relevance of higher education to peace and development.

Represented by senior reintegration officer of the Amnesty office, Mr. Jude Gbaboyor, at the 13th convocation of Linton University College, Malaysia, on Tuesday (October 31, 2017), Gen. Boroh reiterated the commitment of the Buhari led federal government to the sustainability of peace and stability of the Niger Delta region.


He pointed out that the Presidential Amnesty Office is focusing on capacity development of the youths, particularly the ex-agitators, as part of concerted efforts towards reintegrating them back to their original communities with sustainable sources of livelihood through various empowerment packages.


Mr. Bralatei Pastor, a delegate, who spoke on behalf his colleagues, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for sustaining the programme, even as he applauded Gen. Boroh for his pragmatic empowerment initiatives for beneficiaries of the programme, saying that they would reciprocate the federal government’s good gesture by being good ambassadors of the programme.


A total of 36 delegates from the Presidential Amnesty programme graduated, among whom four of them clinched First Class Hons, eight 2nd Class Upper Division, with eighteen 2nd Class Lower Division and one 3rd Class.


The delegates that made First Class Hons, are: Agbainfo Yerin (Civil Engineering), Ariri Otegha Joseph (Civil Engineering), Briggs Alaye Frank (Computer Science) and Tamunosaki Awolayeofori (Civil Engineering).
