Prove it.
"The South African contingent consisted of 29 members from 2 Squadron and eleven support staff, who arrived in Sweden on March 25"
"The eight South African fighter pilots performed very well in simulated combat, with only one SAAF Gripen being downed."

Thus 29+11+8(pilots)=48 or 40 if the Pilots where included in the 29 members from 2 Squadron.

That's what we did with our first nine Gripen Ds. Remember, we cannot all train our pilots in Sweden, others will have to be trained in SA by South Africans.

It is common sense, that's why Airforce purchase two seater fighters as well as well as single seaters.

Nothing new.

You are a dolt.

I made that comment in respect to the SU-30 video, not salaries.
Ugandan pilots aren't happy.

I'd have the Rafale, Typhoon or Super Hornet any day over the SU-30.

Your problem.

SAAF as in current has more than 9 gripen pilots. That number has been multiplying every after two years.

Doesn't matter what you think, we all know the SAAF only has 9 Gripen pilots.

SAAF Gripen pilot timeline
15 years = 9 pilots
30 years = 18 pilots
45 years = 26 pilots.
NAF f-7 Pilot timeline.
09 years = 2 Pilots
18 years = 4 Pilots
27 years = 6 Pilots
36 years = 8 Pilots
45 years =10 Pilots
54 years =12 Pilots

You have never proven we have 9

On a balance of probabilities we have 14

You don't have pilots. It isn't even a question of training. SAAF personnel are too dull to fly the Gripen.
NAF pilots aren't that well trained, that's a known fact.

SAAF is capable of deploying combat under short notice.

The Gripen flew to CAR.

The Rooivalk to Uganda.

When combat operations resume in the DRC after the disarmament deadline expires, the Rooivalk will be causing rebels to curse their gods, ancestors and commanders.

Combat barely ever takes place at ultra-low altitude and at ultra-low speed

Su30 cant pull any of those maneuvers in actual combat, the plane would get ripped apart and the g-forces would kill or incapacitate the pilot

Its a gimmick, only really effective for carrier landing emergencies
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 12:56pm On Dec 22, 2014
@Henry- It takes a minimum of 5years to train recruits to the level of a qualified gripen fighter pilot.

Cant you see where i put an IF, as i wasnt sure if pilots were included or not.

But the next source states that the "South African contingent has 40 members (including fighter pilots from 2 Squadron), plus three technical representatives and a test pilot."
Thus 44 Aircrew and Ground personal confirmed.

P.S The Test Pilot is from SAAB South Africa.

What known fact?

The SAAF has the least trained and experienced pilots in Africa's Big 5.

No SAAF Gripens flew to the CAR, if they actually did, the Nigerian Airforce won't have to do this,

To do what in Uganda, the Rooivalk is a Tin-pot half-french helicopter.

It's a very impressive fighter, a very very impressive fighter.

Geipen flew to forward bases in DRC in preparation for the re-capture of Bangui, had the relevant regional body given support

Rooivalk engaged targets along the Ugandan border roughly a year ago - i believe it was on christmass day

Yes, because it isnt doing those maneuvers at 30 000 ft while going mach 1.5 +

Jets dont fight in the manner of WW1 bi-planes, at 100ft and 200kp/h

that's because you are west bias. The SU-30 is better than all these fighters you've mentioned. The only western fighter i will pick over the 30, is the F-22. The 30s kill eagles with so much ease. Did you not see the indians do it against the americans?

F-15E Strike Eagle and F-16E/F Block 60 will eat the SU30 for breakfast

Yes, that is right, I said a single engine fighter will smash the Su30

Patches689, mikeczar, jln115, this is exactly why you have 9 pilots for your Gripens, and your A109 fleet grounded.
