@Chief agaugust,henry,stillchris,naijapikingidi..what do you think about the latest development with ISIS?
In the latest reports,we learnt that ISIS has now sprung up in libya{as expected}.libya is only 1500km away from our border, egypt is trying to contain the situation, but sadly isnt recieving necessary support.
Do you think they are only aiming for north african arab nations,or have they decided that blacks muslims arent infidels anymore?
We know that if ISIS harnesses the weapons and human resource in libya, mali, niger and chad, then they will be 10 times stronger, with over 2 million trained fighters to cause judicious amount of terror, making the ottoman brutality look like training drills.
Our north alone has 60 million muslim{not counting the south},half of that number are innocent youths who can be easily radicalized.
Do you think that we should take proactive measures of closing our borders and acquiring more military hardwares, especially long range missiles, stealth fighter jets and more wardrones?

Nigeria's current new weapons/equipment purchases and manpower training with Russia, Ukraine, China, Israel, Pakistan, Belarus, Czech, Romania, Poland, etc will all continue and grow for the next couple of years, we will be able to defeat ISIS if they attack us.

However, the first West/Central African victims of Libyan ISIS will be Chad, Niger République and Cameroon. Chad cannot defeat the kind of ISIS that is beating up Iraq.

The weaknesses of Chadian military is already showing with small Boko Haram, they were invited to save Cameroon, but Chad sent a whole 2,000 troop regiment to attack about 800 Bokos inside Nigeria, they were so tactically stupiid that they though they had killed all the Bokos who actually beat the Chadian army with a tactical maneuver (Copied from Nigerian army) tricked them by entering Cameroon to start attacking targets behind the foolish Chadian army's backside....100 Cameroonian civilians killed and 500 wounded by Bokos inside Cameroon that was under Chadian heavy protection ! 2,000 Chadian troops beaten with combat tactics by 800 Boko Haram fighters.

Second mess up by Chad was when 33 Bokos used boats to cross lake Chad and kill Chadians in their homes including a major town Chief of the Chadians, as usual Bokos out-maneuvered the senseless Chadian army that was in the same zone sitting down inside Nigeria's Baga town boasting to be liberating Nigeria while 33 illiterate Bokos where drinking Chadian blood freely like Coca-Cola just across the same border position .

Third combat idiiocy was a Chadian air force jet fighter pilot unable to differentiate between innocent and unarmed civilians in Niger Republique having a funeral ceremony, the Chadian jet bombed the h.ell out of 30 civilians, roasted women and children in BROAD DAYLIGHT....blind bat air force of Chad !

Now this is the same Chad that the whole world of fools (Only fools) say is better than Nigeria in battlefield.....3 unpardonable tactical combat errors in 15 days costing hundreds of innocent civilian lives in 3 countries at the same time !

Chad is indeed a rag tag army of military fools, ISIS will eat them up if they clash in full force

^^^^@Chief agaugust, chad never stood a chance against boko haram in the first place.fighting islamic terrorism is more than owning 3 MiG29 that are flown by belarusian recruits.
Let me reiterate that chad does not have air superiority over us,even with our current F7s and Alpha jets,we have more missile capability and aerial resources than them. When our 40 JF-17s arrive,we will be able to project aerial dominance all over west and central africa.
Chad came rushing into the fray, expecting cheap publicity from our overzealous media, but they got a bitter taste of what CT Ops is,they recently claim to have 'recaptured' dikwa, whereas dikwa was already half empty when they got there, they only met a few pockets of resistances yet they claim to have killed 117 without picture evidence.
both chad and cameroon are french puppet posing to be heroes.
As for cameroon, the US is now arming cameroon to challenge our military dominance, but it wont work, especially with france and cameroon now at each others neck.

More bed-wetting from our resident mumu.

Nigeria has some of the most up to date systems and vehicles in Africa, and the most up to date vehicles in SSA.

Pity you visit the blog, but just can't comment. I wish I knew the feeling.

Boy, come up with an Argument, I want to decimate you.

What do you have that is so advanced?

This is weak mike undecided undecided, make this thing interesting mate.

Nigeria commissioned 4 vessels yesterday.

NNS Centenary, Brand new stealth 96 meters OPV for the Nigerian Navy.

120 meters, High Endurance cutter which had an 8 million dollars up-grade. She (NNS Okpobana) is one of only 2 vessels on the continent that can circumnavigate Africa.

What an Endurance.

"The ship's capabilities are enhanced by advanced air search and surface search radars including the AN/SPS-73 digital surface radar system that incorporates a state of the art computerized collision avoidance system. She uses the Shipboard Command and Control System (SCCS) which uses a network of computers including large screen displays and a dedicated satellite network for communications. "

OKPABANA incorporates a Regional Maritime Awareness Capability (R-Mack) system on board.

“This system will link back to the NN wider R-Mack network and expand NN’s ability to track and identify vessels throughout the Gulf of Guinea”, he said.

NNS Sagbama is a brand new 48 meters MPV gifted to the Nigerian Navy.

NNS Prosperity is a training ship for cadets.

Yes we know what they are Henry120

But how are they better?

What is the point of an ultra long range vessel if your operations are only in the gulf of guinea?

Also, not a single one of the 4 is an actual warship

The BTR-4E is by far the best IFV in service in SSA. This is a statistical fact.

T-72AV's, T-72CZM1/2's, T-72b

The Federal government through it's relief agencies caters extensively for IDP's.

What a stup1d question............. they return back to building Africa's first Trillion dollars economy. we are currently at 526 billion dollars, still a significant proportion to go.

Cameroons Type 07P's and PTL-02's are better

Badger will be the best in the continent, and we are getting meaningfull number of them (236) unlike you whom has only got a handfull

T72 is a death trap, reactive armor or not... just look at Syria. Cheap chinese ATGM's eating them for breakfast all day long. Look at its combat history as well, its been slaughtered every single time its been in combat. Worthless tank.

Why is it the best. It got less balsyic protecstion, IED, HEAT and fire power than the badger. All so you have a tiny number of them. Not even enough to field a company.

"Yeah, of course they are".

The Patria IFV isn't yet in service with any military on the African continent. This isn't a question of what you wish to have, but what you actually have. Stay in touch with reality.

On that basis, Nigerian Army BTR-4E's is the best IFV in Africa.

The T-72's battlefield experience in Nigeria's war on terror would make an inspiring war memoir.

Stories have been posted of T-72 MBT hit countless times with VBIED's. Yet those vehicles have come out un-scared, without any damages.

The T-72's have proven to been an invaluable asset to the Nigerian military both for day and night fighting operations.

It's battlefield experience in Nigeria is impeccable.

All tanks are vulnerable to ATGM. No provides full proof protection against ATGM's.

As far as MBT's go in Africa.

1) Abrams M1 = Egypt

2) T-90 = Algeria and Uganda

3). T-72AV / T-72czm2 = Nigeria.

4). T-72. = Ethiopia.

These are the only MBT's worthy of mention in Africa.

The Nigerian Navy is well suited to carry out it's present and future threat requirements.

We have multiple capital vessels that are suited to provide extensive and the obligatory protection of our EEZ.

We cannot say the say for SA with it's mismatched assets.

A warship is a ship used in combat.

The recently commissioned warships would be used to combat illegalities, piracy, maritime crime in the gulf of guinea and the protection of Nigeria's rich EEZ.

You need to brush up on your comprehension.

You need a High Endurance vessel because operations might take weeks and would take naval ratings, as we have seen in the past to the coast of Angola or even South-Africa.

You didn't know what they are, I hope you now grasp the need for these assets.

Not only frigates are entitled to be called 'warships',any OPV that has combat capability, sophisticated radar technology and high endurance also qualifies as gallant warship.
Many blue water navies take coastal guards for granted, but the truth is that OPVs have more endurance and mobility than most frigates.your frigates will be sunk into the atlantic ocean by any OPV that can be fitted with missiles.
