There were no indications that the apostles of those times profited from the gospel, Peter continued in his fishing business, Paul after dumping his law profession learnt tent making to support himself materially and so were many disciples. They never collected tithes or contributions from their congregation for their personal use or consumption

Let's assum Paul who was a missionary back then was like the stupid greedy money conscious rouge pastors of today, he would have lorded it over the congregation back then to contribute and buy him a luxury ship, he can always use to sail for his missionary journeys, but no he boarded merchant ships even under the harshest of weather and boarding conditions and there were no indications whatsoever that the congratulations paid for those trips.

All pastors who collect tithes and convert to personal gains are rogues, criminals any name you deserve to give them. What they practice is corrupt form of Christianity
During Bible times, people whom God used for miracles never collected "kickbacks" for doing such miracles, neither did they profit from their spiritual work. Gehazi one of of Elishas servants who collected a gift gifted by Naaman that was rejected by Elisha previously was struck with leprosy. SIf Jesus were to visit physically churches of today, what will be his reaction today? When he sees the commercialism that goes in the church today, where all sorts of financial and economic messages are passed in the church while diluting the message about the kingdom of God and salvation( MMM was actively preached in the church by many pastors, Google the pictures are there in the internet). If Jesus was to be physically present in the church, what would be his reaction when he sees that different sections of church are being called out to carry their monetary donations in their hands and come out to recieve prayers according to the amounts one contributes( different prayer for 10 million, 5 million, 1 million, 10,000 and 100 naira donors).
What would be Jesus reaction to find out that PoS machines are now being pass round the church to ensure that you must drop money, even if you claim that you don't have physical cash, no wonder quite a number of people save themselves the embarrassment of going to church if they are broke.
Lemme tell you what Jesus would have done if he were physically present in any church and see the commercialism in the church, he would still do the same thing he did in the temple back then when he overturned the table of money exchangers, and claimed that the house of his father was for worship, while they have converted it as a den of robbers. What is now been done in churches are even worse now.

Now is time to take a step, a commercial church can never be from God, if it were, God would have taken back his power and support from them. Nice points. Could you please cite the scriptures supporting this? After all we're all learning. NB: annual tithe given to God was eaten by the person giving the tithe with his family and the Levites, not just the Levites.

Please what's your definition of a full time pastor? Lemme help explain your definition(I might be right or wrong)

A full time pastor in your context is a pastor that dedicate all his time to church activities, probably from Monday to Sunday he is in the church

Now the pertinent questions is the pastor that spends 12 hours of his time in church probably 6 AM to 6 PM, does all his members come to his church everyday?

Is the church now a counseling center, or a local government liaison office that the officer must be on seat from Monday to Sunday?

Do the so called full time pastor have time for leisure, travels, recreation and rest? If yes why can't he create time for work?

During Bible times, none of the prophets, disciples , servants of God who were active ministers of God who were jobless, they had menials jobs they did which God blessed,so that they can tend for their families.

Or these so called full time rougue pastors of today were more active than our Lord Jesus Christ who for three and half years was active in the ministry, did you read from any part of the scriptures that he lorded or that the crowd he preached to contributed money to support his ministry(which included feeding, transportation and other logistics)? Or are the full time rogue pastors now more "full time" than Jesus Christ? Are they now more full time than Apostle Paul who transversed continents, did they buy him a luxury boat like they buy phantoms, Bugattis, Ferraris, private jets for this modern day rogues in church robes? Nooo Paul learnt a tent making skill(which was a menial trade then) to support himself and the ministry.

So bros the excuse of full time pastor is null and void and can never hold water when sound and just reasoning is involved

At least jesus condemned divorce but did he condemn tithe ? He would not have hesistated to condemn tithe if it were wrong but Jesus rather endorsed it . There is never a place where God condemned Tithe . As long as we have high priest we must tithe . Jesus is our present high priest

. Let me explain to you what Jesus said there - he said " I know you people invented tithe as a law, very good, but also do the important things.

That means it's a law made by men for men, which is good for church upkeep but not mandatory cos we are no longer under law but grace. God only suggest and love a cheerful giver and not a tithe giver. Some will even tell you you will go to hell of you don't pay tithe as gatekeepers of hell they are.

Jesus did not condemn it, he only said it was not like that from the beginning but Moses told them to divorce because their hearts were hardened. Note, Jesus did not say Moses made an error neither did he say the followers of this law did an error.
