Troops of 28 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole, yesterday said it killed 2 female suicide bombers, while a soldier lost his life when they engaged Boko Haram terrorists in Gulak, Madagali Local Council of Adamawa State.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman disclose this in a statement in Abuja yesterday.



Troops of 28 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole, yesterday said it killed 2 female suicide bombers, while a soldier lost his life when they engaged Boko Haram terrorists in Gulak, Madagali Local Council of Adamawa State.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman disclose this in a statement in Abuja yesterday.

Usman said, “The soldier died from the impact of shrapnel from a detonated Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED), while three other soldiers were injured by the VBIED mechanism.”

“The troops successfully repelled the Boko Haram terrorists’ attack in Gulak and neutralised the VBIED mechanism while the terrorists attempted to infiltrate Gulak town,” Usman said.

He also said that the remains of the soldier have been evacuated while the injured ones are receiving medical attention in a military hospital.

Recall that Residents of Madagali and Gulak in Adamawa State had fled their towns following attack by members of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram on Monday night.
