I didn't give the dude audience tho. they are targeting corp members that just finished cos they wud have saved from service year.. funny enuf the money that ff me reach aws a day after POP was 4k . lool

Why would you pay for a job?
How did you send it to them? Was it through a bank account? if so, you need to contact the bank as soon as possible.
But I am amazed that people pay for a job in Nigeria, that is so wrong and aids the scamming business.

Same old tricks,they called my dad,who in turn gave me their number that I should call the man, I was asked to pay 50k for a shell job,that that money was for shell yellow card, (whatever that is), medical report, and one certification like that same his in-law tactics, I then told his in-law to send me the link online, so I can apply myself, then I will pay him,thats how he flared up saying I don't have respect, I just kept laughing and ended the call. No matter how good it sounds ,don't be too desperate to ask questions ,I think greed is also part of it, if someone had a shell job, why will he decide to call you?, he doesn't have family members or friends that he can help

Find hard to believe it truly happened to this OP. Why don’t you post a copy of the message you got and the Account number you sent the 50k to.
Still trying to wrap my head around all these especially her follow up messages.

The same thing happened to me after my service year, I didn't fall for it though. I wasted the guys airtime enough.

You weren't greedy. There's nothing wrong with wanting something good (shell) for yourself. Absolutely nothing wrong with being ambitious in life. The only thing wrong here was that you were a bit naive. Shell, a Shell staff or that of any serious organisation will not need your money to help out with employment. It's disgusting to see little kids here attributing everything to greed. Keep keeping your ambitions high and trust God to make it happen. It's only human to so do!

Shell or any Oil and Gas firm will never ask you to pay for recruitment.

Infact no serious organization will. I don't know why people find this hard to comprehend.

Hehehe, nna ehn, everybody wants to work in Shell, laughs in spiritual powers.

I got the same message after my NYSC, same as my classmates. These scammers got our names and number from the year book NYSC used to do, one of my classmates almost got fooled, maybe because he served in Port Harcourt, thank God his senses woke up early.

Some people can not just hear Shell their ears go just stretch abnormally. Kikikikiki, Op sorry ehn, hahahahahaha.

Contact EFCC, you have his phone number and that of his in-law, his bank details and bvn so that's enough info to track him with.

We Nairalanders are smarter than to fall for such cheap scam, you should be warning those on LIB

Says who? Except if it has been changed. During my set, our POP Mag has all our contact details, pictures and where we served. Someone has called me too for this same scam.. But as soon as he said he doesn't have credit that I should send 1k credit to him so as to give me more info abt the job, I realised its a scam.

This is an old trick aided by Ur NYSC magazine. The problem is some of you ladies will only spend time in romance and celebrity sections of nairaland instead of reading educative posts on other important sections like job/vacancies section, career section etc.


This scam has always been talked about in the job section for a long time. It's surprising you are falling for this in 2017. Smh.
