Frustrating plots contrived between sulking members of the sacked Executive Council of the Federation and state governors over the appointment of Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) moved Acting President Goodluck Jonathan to sack the ministers on Wednesday without elaborate consultation. Presidency sources confirmed on Friday that governors were annoyed that appointments to the advisory council were made without consultation and that they were not given a chance to make nominations. They were also said to have drawn unexpressed support from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party whose leadership equally felt left out in the scheme of things since Jonathan took over governance. read more: here |

I don't know. . . I thought the governors' only emerged as a force under Yaradua. Obj was able to use the EFCC as a tool to threaten the governors during his tenure. |
