SUPER Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu, who has been called a spent horse, at the weekend enhanced his chances of being

on the Nigerian team to the World Cup in South Africa in June when he scored a late match winner for his troubled English Premier League club, Portsmouth FC.
Kanu improved on last week's goal for Pompey which is on verge of bankruptcy.

Pompey are doomed for the drop after they were deducted nine points after going into administration this week, but they appeared defiant when they came back from being 2-1 down to Hull City at Fratton Park to snatch victory with Kanu netting the match winner in the 89th minute.
