Argentina coach, Jorge Sampaoli has explained why his array of stars against a young and vibrant Super Eagles of Nigeria in Tuesday’s grade one friendly in Russia.

The high profile friendly matche ended 2-4 in favour of Nigeria. The Nigeria super eagles used the match to formally kick-start preparation for the world cup in Russia next year.

The former Sevilla coach watched his side throw away a two-goal lead to lose 2-4 as Nigeria rallied back with a strong showing in the second half.
Addressing reporters after the game, Sampaoli faulted his team’s wastefulness in front of goal in the first half.
