I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop. The problem is: I set a hard drive password but I can't recall the password. I tried to by-pass the password by removing the C-MOS battery for a minute but the system refused to booth after replacement ( even when I replaced the battery with a brand new one of the same spec). I also can't access my data by slaving the hard drive to another system because of the hard drive password.

Can anyone offer helpfull advice on how to rectify the problem or on how to access my data on the hard drive?
