The public transportation industry in Nigeria and indeed Africa has refused to embrace technology fast.

Try to book a trip online to a city in the country you are and you will discover what I mean. Even with the transporters that have websites, they are not friendly. What you see or read on their sites do not match the awful experience you get when you patronize them.

So we challenged ourselves at Moov Africa to come up with a web app that can accommodate the entire transportation industry in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, and South Africa. We have started with Nigeria.

Transport companies operate free on the site. Moov Africa will not charge them a cent So people can book their favourite transport without paying us a commission. The app also offers free user interface with live chat. The user pays his fare directly to the operator’s bank electronically or at the terminal before boarding with the Moov Booking Ticket.

Wonderful isn’t it? Now some operators in Nigeria are skeptical, asking why we are not charging any fee. Hmm, we told them other ways we make money but many are still studying it, waiting for others to embrace the app first.

So if your favourite transport company is not on moov.com.ng/travels tell them to #GetOnTheMoov. Else you queue to buy a trip ticket.
