Lionel Messi and his Barcelona teammates spent the night before their Champions League clash with Juventus by laughing at Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports in Spain.

Diario Gol claim that the Barca squad were watching Real Madrid's clash against APOEL in Cyprus from their Turin hotel, and seemed to enjoy that fact that Ronaldo was celebrating his goals rather over-zealously despite them being the fifth and sixth strikes in a 6-0 win.

With Tottenham coming from 1-0 down to beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in Group H's other game , that meant that Real were condemned to only finish as group runners-up despite their resounding victory.

And the Spanish report claims that Barca's players rather enjoyed that fact.

It states that Messi was unconcerned by the fact that Ronaldo's two goals took him further clear of Messi in the list of the Champions League's all-time top scorers.

They also claim that "many of Ernesto Valverde's players could not stop laughing when they saw CR7 celebrating the goals as if it were the final of the Champions League."

There were also believed to be jokes about just how poor APOEL were, with the Barca players enjoying themselves as they sit 10 points clear of Real in La Liga, and just a point away from winning their Champions League group.
