Ofada rice is also known as unpolished rice or Brown rice (brown rice doesn't mean it has to be brown in colour but means its unpolished). Hence, it can be white or brown/red in colour.

The smell of the ofada rice is dependent on how it is processed. Some have strong smell which some people like and others feel offended by the smell (one man's meat is another man's poison).

Ofada rice is Nigerian's locally produced rice. The major challenge with ofada rice is the fact that it has stones, this has made a lot of people lose interest in ofada rice, but the good news is that over the years, ofada rice millers have been able to resolve this challenge with the use of de-stoning machines. Ofada rice has many benefits both to individuals and the Nigerian economy as a whole. These benefits will be discussed in our next post.
