God is dead?

She stared into her antiquated clock hanging on the wall as it ticks faster than normal. Each tick of the clock was a reminder that death was edging closer. She has had a long suffering living as a cancer patient but her hope to survive has been crushed by a new doctor's report. "You will give up the ghost In 2days" the doctor had declared in this report.

Now her gray eyes were always fixed to the dangling handle of the clock as she monitors the countdown lying on her bed. There was nothing else to do other than to embrace this fate which is known for ringing loud frustration in every man who becomes its victim. She is one, and had felt a sharp pain piercing deep into her body tissues as her eyes release sorrowful tears every now and then.

life holds so much frills and ornaments she is yet to explore. Therefore dying in two days time only means that her dreams would be buried alongside her corpse and contribute to the richness of the soil. This unfairness of life has turned her into a host of distress, as she prepares to face the most dreaded enemy of man who groans at those taking side with life.

A day has passed and it was just remaining 24hours for her to give up the ghost according to the doctor. This has allotted more speed to the way she perceives the flight of time as seconds jumps into minutes. She wished time could remain stationary but such wish dies of plague even before the wisher conceives it.

Her heart was full of grief against God who she thought shots his eyes against her misfortunes; and she deliberately shoved the bible beside her to the ground. She declares within her that God is dead, and if not dead, then he is a drunk; and a blind lunatic for not coming for her rescue.

There is a disquieting mystery surrounding the concept of God and therefore His worship is not for those who are strangers to the dialect of faith. Rather it is for those who feast and dine in faith.

The time was counting as she swiftly peered into a picture resting on the wall, few distance away from the clock. It was a picture of her late husband who was smiling lustily during when the shot was taken. She stared at him and saw him winked as though he was celebrating her ordeal. This vision of an inanimate object suddenly winking had bubbled her heart with more trouble as she reaches for an interpretation of it from an African myths that fly along with flunky and demeaning theories of the dead.

She is a christian but believes the dead parades in the sky--in the midst of the twinkling stars and watches over those dearest to him. Such superstition had convinced her that a picture of a dead person winking at her is an affirmation of her medical report while she keeps a crossed face. Her fear of death outweighs the love for this husband, so she slowly turns away from the picture, struggles to breathe in ease and reminisced.

After some hours of reminiscing, she quickly returned her face to the clock and realized it was 4hours left for her to die. Now the sole of her foot had gone cold as she trembles and horns loudly in tears, drawing a pillow closer to herself as if it was a shield to prevent her from dyeing. The time was now running faster than before as her heart beats a drum of confusion.

Her eyes were desperately scanning round the whole room when she saw the bible laying on the concrete floor open; and regrets are heresy position against God. As she heaved up toward to the Bible, she picked it up and in a mood of penitence read the open page . It was a page from the book of Psalms. While she was reading it, the time in which the doctor predicted that she would die came and pass but she didn't notice as she read on in tears. And by the time she raised her head to check the clock, she felt a pacifying cold touch of God on her skin and the cancer symptoms disappeared.

God is not dead!
