This is racism.Enough of this apartheid system in Nigeria. Is it a crime to be from the southern part of Nigeria.Just imagine.CBN should also give N6 billion to every Federal university in the country. |

They should enjoy, when GEJ was there he did not remember south south or Rivers State or Bayelsa. 6 billion would have done a whole lot at Federal University Otuoke. |

Re: CBN Spends 6 Billion Naira On Abu Business School by czaratwork: 9:57am On Nov 26, 2017 |
Our shaky shaky CBN governor, He is just doing everything to please the north so that he remains in office. He gives them job like he is from the north, he gives them access to BDC and now this. He is so afraid of loosing his job. So unlike Sanusi. |

irynterri: Dangote Otedola Ayiri Tony Elumelu Jimoh Ibrahim Iyin Ajiboye Do you want more? Its unreasonable to build a business school for 6bn. Nigeria's best business schools, Lagos Business school, how much was it built? We nerd to start thinking in Nigeria. We need not attract sentiments and tribalism to all matters. This is one of the reasons why we won't grow. Our aged men are too weak to think in the right direction while the youths are uneducated literates. |

chloride6: Well, I said central bank of the North, probably you meant central bank of the west. Kindly make your point next time without using some kind of language. I'm so happy it was built, after all there is Zaria Business School opposite PZ, if you are going to ABU, Kongo Campus. Using N6B is what scare the hell outta me. |
Re: CBN Spends 6 Billion Naira On Abu Business School by careidon: 10:32am On Nov 26, 2017 |
NB: this was during the SANUSI's term. He gave lavishly to Flood & Boko Haram victims too while other parts of the country with similar misadventure were not so helped or is it rewarded? GEJ gave billions to establish 4 unis too o. What has been done by those @mariousroi - it's not a curse. it is only the reason 9ja should restructure or reconsider her unity, AND DECIDE TO BETTER (i.e. INSTITUTIONALLY) FIGHT CORRUPTION. I rem hearing at Landmark's opening, Covenant Univ. being set up with about N4b and Landmark UNI for N6b years later WITH ALL RESOURCES AVAILABLE unlike Covenant's construction; yet if the Govt. gives exactly the same amount to our University Dons and or Ministry of Education - after 20yrs all you will get is the secondary sch they inherited built into longer rooms & architecturally dull lecture theaters ; there will be no adequate student hostel! only a wonderful well built VC/senate/admin office and esp the VC's personal residence(s) will be done to CU/ABUAAD & others standards. 1 Like |

irynterri: He has a bachelor's degree in business studies and administration from Al-Azhar University, Cairo. That's Dangote. But not an MBA. Do you know how an MBA school operates? On Tony Elumelu, He attended Harvard in his latter years and not when he was coming up as an entrepreneur. He already had two degrees in Economics in Nigeria. Iyin Aboyeji is the cofounder of Andela and founder of Flutterwave. He was listed in Forbes 30 under 30 2017. |

when you have the opportunity to visit the school and the business school in particular, you will discover that the money spent on the project worth every penny. we need development in our tertiary institutions cos that's where change start from |

damilare442:I'm not here to argue with you, wait till you start plotting your way to Forbes list and you see your self researching for a good business school, thank God you acknowledged the fact that they studied business related programmes hence they are financial literates, how do you expect someone that studied biochemistry to fare well in biz without financial literacy NB business schools offer other programmes aside MBA |

We are talking about 3 billion naira? What about the $3 billion (approximately 1,400 billion naira) spent on looking for oil in Northern Nigeria, and guess what? Nothing was found! 1 Like 1 Share |

careidon: And when Sanusi was queried by Jonathan he started singing about missing money from NNPC, which amount was constantly changing and the All Poverty Congress, APC zombies believed him. Is it not a wonder that the educated south is quick to lampoon their own corrupt folks while giving a pass to the northern rogues? Are we so enslaved mentally. barcanista: The FRCN’s report on Sanusi The decision to suspend the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Sanusi Lamido was based on a report of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria dated June 7, 2013. The report was made after a review of Sanusi’s response to the query issued to him by the President over the apex bank’s financial statement of 2012. His response was dated May 20, 2013. According to a copy of the report obtained by our correspondent on Thursday, the council indicates that the explanation provided by the suspended CBN governor is “a clear display of incompetence, nonchalance, fraud, wastefulness, and abuse of due process and deliberate efforts to misrepresent facts on the part of the leadership of the CBN.” The council advised the President to exercise the powers conferred on him by Section 11(2)(f) of the CBN Act 2007 or invoke Section 11(2)(c) of the said Act “and cause the governor and the deputy governors to cease from holding office in the CBN.” The report read: The particulars of the infractions against Sanusi are: Persistent refusal and/or negligence to comply with the Public Procurement Act in the procurement practices of the Central Bank of Nigeria. (A) By virtue of Section 15 (1)(a) of the Public Procurement Act, the provisions of the Act are expected to comply to ‘all procurement of goods, works and services carried out by the Federal Government of Nigeria and all procurement entities.’ This definition clearly includes the Central Bank of Nigeria. (B) It is however regrettable that the Central Bank of Nigeria, under his leadership, has refused and/or neglected to comply with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act (PPA). You will recall that one of the primary reasons for the enactment of the PPA was the need to promote transparency, competitiveness, cost of effectiveness and professionalism in the public sector procurement system. Danladi7: Since when did Afribank, a private company become the same thing as the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN that is owned by the public? You should always stick to what you know and are sure of to avoid needless embarrassment on nairaland. The masters degree programme in Banking and Finance was started with a generous initial assistance by the International Bank for West Africa (IBWA), (now Afribank). It was from this funding support that the building for the programme was erected. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
