Arsene Wenger explained why Alexis Sanchez was able to have more of an influence in the second-half of Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat of Burnley.

The Gunners looked set to drop more points as Sean Dyche’s men held the visitors until stoppage time but the north London giants were awarded a penalty in the 92nd minute.

Sanchez, who had little impact in the first-half at Turf Moor, converted the spot-kick and Wenger explained why the Chilean improved after the break.

Asked about Sanchez’s performance, Wenger said: ‘I pushed him more through the middle and he was much more influential.

‘In the second-half he was much more dangerous.’
