Nigeria Ranks 127th In Road Quality And Other Sector by OlubamzNews: 4:42pm On Nov 29, 2017 |
In the indices, Nigeria ranks low. The country does not break into the top 100 in any of the categories. Here is a quick breakdown of the ranking; Roads Road quality: 127th Airport quality: 125th Electricity supply: 136th Education system: 120th Math and science: 118th Innovation: 82nd Life expectancy: 133rd Security: 130th This is a damning report card. Nigeria gets a resounding F. It paints a grim picture of the country. Are things really this bad in Nigeria? Despite many promises from the government, the power supply is still epileptic. The education system is far from what it was in the 60s and 70s. The poor state of education reflects in the country's ranking in math and science, a lowly placed 118. In 2015, life expectancy was 53 years old. There are still security challenges in a country where a murderous group is still at large, people can get kidnapped in churches and Boko Haram in the North- East. The political class has no doubt failed the nation. 57 years after independence and Nigerians cannot boast about the basic things of life. It's 18 years since democracy returned to the most populous black nation on earth but that's just a mere statistic.
