Arewa Youth Council has thrown its weight behind the presidential ambition of former Vice President ,Atiku Abubakar. According to one of its leaders, Auwal Jubril, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would make far better president than President Muhammadu Buhari. Jubril who was former Financial Secretary, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANAS) said as an entrepreneur of repute, Atiku would know how to open up the economy, thereby creating jobs unlike Buhari who has never ran a business of his own except cattle rearing.

According to him, the recession that Nigeria went into few months after President Buhari came to power was simply because he lacked intellectual savvy to run a country. He said it is because of this that it took him six months to appoint ministers and till date has not appointed board of departments, agencies and parastatals.

He also said that Alhaji Abubakar is urban and open minded and as such has a lot of friends across the length and breadth of the country unlike Buhari who is a recluse. His words,

"To be honest with you, with regard to running a country like Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a world apart from Buhari. Bringing somebody like Buhari to national politics is not only a mistake but also a dis-service to the country because he is best fittest as a provincial leaders, a cult hero for the almajiris.

He is a recluse and that is why he confessed that he did not even know some of those he appointed ministers. In the area of economy, he has never ran any business before except breeding and selling cattle. This is what the country is suffering at the moment. An incompetent person was brought to rule us. It is after weighing him and Alhaji Abubakar that we come to the conclusion that the former Vice President would be a far better president because he is everything that Buhari is not.
