The truth of the matter is that Nigerians are not patient, those names you made mentioned of now are highly privileged, when you look @ their history, and the background, and even the environment they happened to have found themselves could highly motivate them, recently I read that the founder of Face book hacked into Harvard network computer system back in the days when, he has not found his feet, and he was almost expelled from school den, was Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, all of them do have a story to tell, from their past and ups and down too.... finally Nigeria Govt is not doing anything to better the environment to encourage small scare entrepreneurs, which is very bad, there are lots of talented young men and women wasting away, most of them have no where to run to, on like their counter parts u made mention of.... this also makes some of them to seek greener pasture oversea, by travelling via boat to Libya, Morocco, Italy etc

If someone believes that the young boy is telling the bitter TRUTH then Nigeria is doomed, what could have happened if people like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates went into scamming. There could have been no iPhone, no facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp, no Microsoft or windows.

Things were also hard for Steve Jobs and in that hardship he excelled, so there is no excuse

you are right and wrong at the same time , if you listen to the guy very well he made mentioned of basic amenities lacking in this country , no electricity, bad road , bad education system, no job for youth, first degree is seen as a primary school certificate, abuse of power, lack of security etc ... how do you expect Nigeria to produce someone like Mark Zuckerberg ? First of all, Americans have a program called "where startups meet investors". This is where people with bright ideas come to find funding for their startups...

But that does not exist in Nigeria... If there's any, they only steal your ideas...

Also, all those people you mentioned, check well, they all have co founders... one person brings the idea while the other brings the capital. From Steve Jobs down to Mark & Bill...

But in Nigeria, there are few people who would want to invest in your ideas...

I'm not supporting yahoo.. all I'm saying, is that no one should compare the hustle of other countries with Nigeria... because they have enough support programs but we Nigerians are left to hustle things ourselves...

Bro, I surely do not disagree with you, but the basis of owning a computer and learning such a skill does not bother the SARS, as long as you own a computer, you are a damn criminal in their sight. I don't count ones skill as a skill if he can't impact knowledge to another, and that is why these youths have become the way they are. I once did a research for Adobe, and I was shocked as to how many things we could engage the youths in. But sadly the govt are not concerned, and I clearly say so many persons around you do not care, as long as they can put food in their table. That is all that matters. So however you want to judge, think of the foundation of how it all began, judge from the implications and then make your argument valid or rather, invalid.

There is no excuse, you want to tell me that Bill Gates and Mark Zuck did not face challenges in their time. Or have you forgotten when Mark wanted to sell facebook so many times. or was it when Google want to be sold because its owners wanted to give up but stayed back. Or is for years when Twitter made no profit and there were big problems between the four founders.

America didn't become a great country in a day, America didn't become a great country because there were some people who kept comparing themselves to others better then them and kept saying. Let me tell you the truth, the problem with the nation is those small-scale entrepreneurs that are waiting for the government to help them. Everyone wants to be an entrepreneur today and all they dream about is getting rich. But look at America every business is opened not just because you want to get rich but because you want to affect the economy, that is why you see America progressing, it is not simply because the government is great it is because businesses like Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Oracle affect the economy and uplift it. But look at Nigeria everyone is working for their pocket, including Dangote, and that is why when the economy fell Dangote's $12bn network dropped to $10 in days.. While Jeff Bezos counted $1bn in hours... You see the difference in the economy, most small-scale entrepreneurs are focusing on just getting rich, if they are focused on improving the economy, then there would be unity among entrepreneurs and they would protest to the government. Look at the way Google is affecting the world, even facebook changed the US elections. Google, Apple, and Samsung have once come together to build a product. All these improve the economy and when that happens people will get richer, but most Nigerians don't give a damn about the economy, they open businesses and call it side jobs or they simply open it so that they can survive and it impacts that economy in no want. look at the women selling in shops, the men selling shoes and clothes, or the so-called tech entrepreneurs and fashion designers. More businesses are being opened in Nigerian daily and yet the economy falls.
