A few weeks back, the unveiling of the tesla semi truck and tesla roadster shook the world. Both products are revolutionary and will change the auto industry in years to come just as the first iphone changed the smartphone industry.

The tesla semi truck is a semi autonomous electric propelled truck. The truck can do zero to sixty miles in five seconds compared to fifteen seconds for an average diesel truck. The truck can do five hundred miles of range on a full charge and is easier to drive because there are no gears. Tesla claims 30 mins of charge will get you 400 miles which makes perfect sense because it takes 15 to 20 minutes to fill a diesel truck. Auto pilot is also a standard feature to aid driving and the truck also has a lower center of gravity to prevent roll overs.

This means a lot for the trucking industry as electrical vehicles are easy to maintain and more fun to drive. The trucking industry globally is a multi billion dollar industry. In Nigeria, trucking accounts for 80 percent of haulage and logistics.

However, the main story is the tesla roadster version 2.0. The tesla roadster version 1.0 started it all and even though it fell below expectations, newer tesla models have been improved upon. The tesla roadster version 2.0 can do zero to sixty in 1.9 seconds, a full charge can give you 620 miles of range thats roughly a thousand kilometres of range and those specs are currently for the base model. The tesla roadster is the first sport car to beat the two second barrier. All in all, it has very impressive features for its price.

The tesla roadster and the semi truck will be fully available in the year 2020. the tesla roadster when released will be a knock off to internal combustion engine cars. Most cars cannot travel for up to 620 miles without refueling. All has not been well for tesla though as the model 3 is experiencing manufacturing problems and financial analysts are calling the unveiling of the rodster and semi a distraction.

I want tesla to succeed and be the driver to the new world of electric vehicles. The new tesla roadster if done right will change the whole auto industry. Hopefully, with the advent of electric cars, my country will eventually be free from the shackles of the seven sisters.
