Good day everyone, I began an admission process at St Cloud State University, Minesota in 2016 for the Fall of 2017. I wanted to study Strategic Communications and GRE is not required. Having uploaded every other documents, I was required to send my transcript via WES which will cost about $206. I got discouraged because I felt the procedure was awkward coupled with lack of funds as at then. I sought advice from friends in the US and they told me to abandon the process and look for schools that won't require WES.
I found one and I wrote my GRE last December but, I had a low score (273). Now, I am thinking of revisiting my admission process at St Cloud State and I need an advice from someone with a similar experience on how to go about the WES and how long it will take for the transcript to be processed etc. Please, address my case.

Why don't you prepare for for a new GRE and have a good score? Do you have the financial wherewithal? A good GRE score can give you a better chance and not necessarily a desperate option of St Cloud.

Considering the nature of my job, I may not be able to perform well in GRE especially the Quantitative Reasoning aspect being an art student; it's been tough. Now, assuming I have the financial wherewithal. What do you advise?

Go to Wes website and register and get your reference code then visit your school to send your transcript to Wes and let your school include the Wes reference code on your document to make it easier for Wes to know that it’s for you.

After verification of your document and Wes already have all your document then within or less than a month Wes will conclude their evaluation.

My application is on the process with Florida International Uni. & Uni. of Florida. They didn't request for GRE but requested for TOELF and am writing it by march.

Any further advice?

Yes, you can. While many schools may have reached their application deadlines, some few ones still have theirs around March, May & even July. Come to think of it, there's still a Summer semester before Fall. It all boils down to how prepared you're for the standardized exams, & what schools you're look at.
Never an excuse!!!! What happened to your verbal as an art student? Quantitative is basic maths and its application. I am an art student too. In fact my 1st and 2nd degrees are English Language. That didn't affect my performance in Quantitative. Jobs imo is not an excuse if you really want to pursue your dream. We have seen many people here that got denied because they couldn't present their GRE score ( yours is too low to give a VO who is accessing your intent). Better use the evaluation money for the exam and aim at good score. cheesy cheesy

How long depends on your school and how seriously you follow them up. I started my WES evaluation last September. My school delayed and sent my transcript in October and WES sent it back to them for verification that same month. My school then went cold on the matter as Non academic staff went from one strike to another which is still ongoing. I had already given up on the whole stuff and applied to schools that did not request for WES evaluation only for WES to send me a mail yesterday that they have received the necessary documents needed and my evaluation would be completed by friday.
I dull shai, so ur case could be a whole lot faster is you follow up your school bumper to bumper

The duration of WES evaluation process is largely dependent on your undergraduate school. First, the transcript would be sent to WES by either you or your school, WES would then send it back to your school for vetting, and the school would send it back to WES before any evaluation is done. My WES evaluation was completed in about 3-4 weeks. If the academic records office of your school didn't join the NASU strike and they don't delay in processing your transcript, your evaluation should be completed in a month.

Resumption dates is very far away. like i've read here on numerous occasion Visa interview can only be done 3months to ur resumption date and the next major resumption semester is fall semester that is more than 6 months away, hence no visa interview for now resulting in no visa transcript

Good day, people.
Please I want to ask.
1. Is it possible for someone that got BSc in Economics in a Nigerian University to study nursing in America?

2. What are the procedures and requirements where possible.

3. Is it strenuous or hard?

Thanks.

wow! What materials did you use to prepare? The reading and listening sections are relatively easy and you can even score the full 30 marks. You need to tackle that before proceeding to register again.

I have to quickly drop a comment. I'm sorry I'm late to the party. There's something we all in this thread should put to mind. And I'll try to stretch it a bit.

1) This is not a normal thread. This is a STUDENT thread. A thread of people who are not only learned but people who are actively seeking knowledge. Don't equate it with some other threads, say Romance or Games thread.

2) Nobody owes you ANYTHING. You see, as Nigerians, we have this sense of entitlement that baffles me. We have a predetermined ways we believe we should be addressed and how people should treat us. This is sad. To be specific, you need help, you ask a question, someone answer you and you perceive the person is rude and he's hurt your Ego. All these in a faceless forum o. Why not ignore him and his answers and focus on those who's answers suit your image and ego. That someone decided to use his time to answer you is not a given. You don't deserve it because he owes you nothing. He's doing it because he wishes to. If his response doesn't make sense to you, move on. Coming in here and shouting rude is not only absurd but it's quite nonsensical.

Someone said He should have not responded if he knows he's going to be rude. Hello...... You should have ignored the comments too if you know the supposed rudeness hurt your feelings.

Please, I'm saying all these because we all feel people owe us to provide help here. We don't deserve any help from anybody. They owe us Nadar. So when they do, make sense out of the nonsense responses they type and move on.

Finally, please, learn how to read to understand. Many of you are lazy and not ready to put in the work. Often time, we look for the easy way out. Might be effective on some days but it burns you hard in most days. Google.com is a wonderful companion. Learn how to do your own research then seek clarification and help. Not the other way round. Remember, this is a thread for knowledge seekers and readers.

Time to start acting as one!

Do note this is not in support of anybody or any side to the disagreement. This is me been factual. And if my response hurt your ego, well, go treat your ego grin grin

I think it all depends on how fast your school sends a verification.

The duration depends on your school's promptness in verifying the documents sent to WES. Mine took almost one month bc I sent my certificate and transcript to WES via nipost.
