I try to maintain some level of consistency by at least posting once/twice a week. But my efforts seems to be falling to the group.

The traffic is pathetic! It shatters my heart and eats up any form of motivation when ever I look at it. I get an average of 20 views per day. I've applied and tried basically all I know but the growth appears static.

How long did it take before you started getting good traffic to your blog?

I blog about computers and honestly, I doubt if am going to renew my hosting package.

Any thoughts?

You don't need to quit blogging, and don't be discouraged. Just remain focused and be consistent in what you are doing. First of all you have to take your blog seriously, imagine visiting nairaland everyday and finding out that they only update the frontpage once a week.... Would you love to visit nairaland continuously, No, you will simply find another forum that can post daily and keep you occupied.

As for traffic, you can get traffic from facebook groups, pages and your profile, google plus, and nairaland, also from stumbleupon and SEO

If your day business is affecting your blog, then you need to employ writers to write for you.

Research and experiment!!!

Those are the ingredients you need, depending on your blog niche, you should try to rank for some certain keywords that have a low search value but has a high CPC rate

Nah...u cnt update one's a week and expect to grow your traffic....

Aleast 3 times a week.
Get a newsletter on your blog so dat a visitor can suscribe and get updated wen u push a new article on your syt...
Put In more work..
Try writing at nyt..
Wen you get bk frm work schedule your self. .
Get a hour or 2hours sleep. .Wake and write...

Had a Man Utd facebook group created in December 2016. It had about 180k+ members and kept rising until it was hacked in October. I sort of created a new one and later got discouraged because of the lack of members but decided to resume again this December.

I knew it was the quality of contents fuelled by passion that grew members in the group, not the group just existing. Even though the members are still not over 20, the growth pattern is familiar. That was how it was when I started last time. It was consistency that brought that group far.

So, remain steadfast. You will get there. Which blog are you even telling us about? Perhaps we'll give you some views, not so?

Why are you blogging? To make money cause you heard others are doing same?

If that is so, then passion will be out of grasp.

On the other hand, you need to treat blogging as if it's business.

When I started blogging a year ago, I started out to have my voice heard.. I didn't care about whether someone was visiting or not, it was mainly for passion and gladly, traffic were coming naturally. I didn't know about SEO then, neither was I interested to know. It sounded like rocket science.

Then as a year passed, I thought of doing something that offers real value. Being in the department of entrepreneurship inspired me greatly to start an entrepreneurship blog, I forged ahead and make that dream a reality.

In June 6th of this year, my blog went live and I started. This time around, I was ready to learn, I was no longer that lazy blogger.. I combined passion with business and the result was terrific.

www.entmirror.com is 6 months old now and the earnings and traffic is impressive for such a new site. I proved to a lot of people that money can be made through blogging irrespective of the age or time of startup.

Find a problem people are searching for, learn SEO and you won't struggle as a blogger.

The moment you start asking if you should quit something then it's obvious you don't find fulfilment doing it.. You won't be asking if you should quit if you have passion for it or make cool cash from it

I blog at www.fototech.com.ng the traffic ain't great but damn I love photography and digital cameras so I am renewing and upgrading my hosting plan soon. Op, don't quit, keep your readers updated with two post a week at least, do some basic SEO and keep updating and updating.

Ya quit blogging check my signature registar and thank me later.

I will urge you to continue sha but if its eating up your time and happiness I advise you drop it, Happiness comes before anything.

Quitter never win and winners never quit, how often do we quit when we almost win a price. If you are blogging on a passion of yours you will not quit.

They will entice you to either buy there e book or set up a site for you or even try to persuade you to visit there sites to increase there own traffic.

Do you have a niche? Do you research keywords?

My sites fetch traffic passively from Google and this are in thousands.

I just launched a new Amazon affiliate site for 2018 with more than 15 posts in a week, none is less than 3,000 words and all optimized for different keywords. That is business.

Go for a better niche
Blogging about computer will take your a hell of time.

You can go into fitness, nutrition or health niche..

don't quit at all. it may take time and practice. don't just blog abt computers alone, try to make research on phone tweaks and make money online if u want to get more viewers. At least every night try to write up to 3 post by researching and using ur own words. Wen u do dat. schedule each of dem within 2 dats interval and sign up on iftttp.com , it will share ur posts on Facebook and twitter immediately it's posted. After dat, try to share on forums and comment on other blogs. during weekends especially Sundays, take time to type amazing contents and save it. These are d contents u will send as guest posts when u see sum1 who accepts guest posts. Also join "bloggers helping bloggers" on Facebook...it's very helpful

later on u can now think of SEO

Everything is just time.... You jez started fr God sake.... So chill na.... Bloggers like jidetheblogger, owner of ogbonge blog also had the same story years back.. Nothing good come easy.

Also be consistent, make sure you post on nairaland. Imagine making it to frontpage, the kind of traffic you will see on your blog, you go fear.....

I will itemise what I have learnt so far on blogging later in the day... Blogging is not for lazy folks, you have to work your self out..
