There are very few men of the modern age that don’t own a pair of jeans or two but do you know your jeans could be killing your sperm? Believe it or not, the type of jeans you wear could determine if you have low sperm count or not. Modern scientists appear to have taken a break from solving humongous world problems like hunger and finding the cure for cancer to. Discover that there has been a drastic reduction in sperm counts over the last 40 years. One item of clothing that almost every man has sitting in his wardrobe that they have found to be the culprit behind this is your denims. Researchers at scientific journal Human Reproductive Update have found that the average sperm count of men in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand has been slashed in half since 1973. They found out that a variety of factors including diet, smoking, and chemicals the modern man comes into contact with were responsible. One of the scientist involved in the study however believes that there is another culprit that may be squarely responsible for this reduction: skinny jeans. Allan Pacey, a Professor of Andrology at the University of Sheffield says that “There are things in a man’s life that will change how his testicles function, But the single biggest risk factor for how many swimming sperm he produced each day was whether he is wearing tight pants or loose pants . . . Skinny jeans? I guess they’re the fashion.” The theory behind this is that skinny jeans that hug the testicles tend to squeeze the life out of your swimmers by pushing your pills closer to the core of your body. Sperm cells tend to thrive in testes that are a couple of degrees below your body temperature of 98.6 degrees fahrenheit or 37 degrees centigrade. This is why the scrotum containing the testicles dangle a little lower away from your body. Any form of extra heat the testes is exposed to such as sitting in a sauna, beneath a laptop, or trapped in jeans so skinny that they don’t allow any air in chips away at your capacity to produce healthy sperm. Heat diminishes both the quantity and quality of swimmers we produce which will in turn drastically reduce and leave you with only a handful of sperm cells. The good news however is that the damage done by skinny jeans is only temporary and your production line will usually get back to normal after three months of wearing looser pants. You can also boost your fertility by consuming less coffee, alcohol, and cigarettes and sleeping more, exercising more and eating lots of fruit and vegetables. More so, you should know that the health risk of skinny jeans doesn’t just end here. Tight trousers are also a recipe for fungal infections, bladder weakness, urinary tract infections, and even twisted testicles better known as testicular torsion. So if you want to boost the quantity and quality of your swimmers and you knowing that despite the decade of obsession with uber-skinny jeans, the more relaxed fit is slowly returning to fashion consciousness. Your testicles and sperm cells will thank you later. https://www.360nobs.com/2017/12/careful-jeans-killing-sperm/
