@ jesusIs the old testament still valid? If yes, why is Exodus 22.18 no longer valid?
All scriptures are written by inspiration from God. 2timothy3vs16. Every aspect of the bible is very valid.But for u to be called a christian u must have existf after the NT which was centered on christ the father of xtianity,based on matt-Rev.Now the OT was based on men-God,whilst the NT is based on men-Jesus-God.Jesus is an advocate&xtians must follow his footsteps.Hes humble,didnt kill/fought.He charged us in John14vs 6-11.So as being called by someones name,u must do like him.He didnt kill any witch but casted out witches&evil spirit from pple possessed by them.Instead of jesus to interprete Exodus as kill,He rather casted&rebuked the evil out.Thereby dealth with spirit&not body.

Jesus didnt condemn anylaw.infact he made references to isaiah&Psalms during one of his teachings.He chosed to apply laws with wisdom.Since christ himself had similar powers with God.To do&to undo.He could kill&could raise as exemplified in the bible.

My question to you is therefore this - Do you believe that witches should be allowed to live? If yes, what is your biblical justification?
Why kill something u cant make? This is y i disagree with the Saudis.In my office i have terrible staff,that i sometimes feel that getting rid of them,but when i rem the teachings of christ,i hesitate.
Witches should be allowed to live cus of these 2 quotes of the bible Gal 6vs7 law of sowing&reaping i.e evil for evil,good for good. Rev 22vs12 we shall all be judged by our works i.e evil for evil&vice versa. The same reward applies at our work place.Last yr August(09) i was promoted&this yr Jan(10) a driver was sacked for gross misconduct

A direct order from god should be disregarded because of vague and essentially meaningless statements about "sowing and reaping" undecided undecided undecided undecided
Is this not typical of the pick & mix christianity which is practised all over? You pick the bits you like and try to explain the unpleasant bits away (don't get me wrong, this approach is prevalent in all religions).
When god directed his people to kill witches, stones wives and homosexuals, did he give the power to "make" them. If you allow terrible staff to remain in employment because of the "teachings" of christ, then I am very sorry for your organisation.
Witches (if any such beings exist at all) should not be killed because it is morally wrong to kill, period. Trying to find justification in the bible will not help, there is none there.
As for rewards at work, you got promoted because, no doubt you are a honest, effective and hard-working individual who truly deserves the promotion. Likewise the driver was sacked because he deserved to be sacked. God has nothing to do with it. You would have been promoted whether you were a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or a non-believer, one hopes.

Zodiac where do u think the law of sowing&reaping emanates from?
U requested a biblical justification of allowing a witch to remain alive&it was given yet u re not satisfied.
As Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe is corrupt&wicked is it then right to have him killed cos hes evil?

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." - Galatians 6:7
"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." - Revelations 22:12

I can not see how these verses deal with issues I raised. The only way you can say these verses abrogate the old testament is by twisting logic.

mohammad the criminal prophet lived by the sword all his life&did more havoc in saudi.Hes just being emulated

Let’s think of it in this way: Technologically they are in the zero level just like us, but they have the second choice to sell, which is an ideology. Their ideology influences many decisions presently in the universe. They profit from the ideology, many find their way to this country yearly and one will wonder their capital gain per annum. Then who is the FOOL? WE (consumer) with nothing presently to sell or THEM (inventor)

See Psalm 37 vs 1-3&matt 13vs24-30. Here jesus emphatically said let both evil&good grow together till the harvest day.Now correlate this with Rev 22vs12. The evil&good here refers to witches,wizard,sorcerers,humble man,kind person etc. Theres an end coming to every actions.

@airdig

first all i would like you to know that i am not a christian.

i am a member of Eckankar, Religion of the light and sound of God.

so when i was talking about leaving my religion if it turns into a bloodthirsty religion i was not talking about christianity.

and talking about witches we do not advocate the killing of anybody no matter what the person does. there is a divine justice in existence that takes care of every thing. and of course, what you sow is what you reap.

Re: Saudi To Behead Lebanese Convicted Of Witchcraft by benodic: 2:08am On Apr 05, 2010
@toba

the principle of sowing and reaping is what is known as the law of karma or the law of cause and effect.

this is the law that is guiding all souls in the universes of God. and this law forms one of the basic foundations of my religion.

through the knowledge of this law, no one needs to tell me about what is wrong or right because i know that every action i take will definitely come back to me.

so why should i sow discord, hatred or death. so i consciously choose to sow seeds of love. and of course love is what i get in return. this law has also taught me to learn to take full responsibility for my actions.

it is not the devil that is responsible for the bad things that happen to me. i and only i am fully responsible for my life.

more understanding of this law is what is needed in this world today in order to make this place a more harmonious place to live.

@ benodic
I got the point of your post. Quite interesting.

The question is do you get my point wrt the subject matter? Here it is again for your review, honestly this time
AIRDIG:

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT.
My post so far is not to support the Saudi. Saudi does not equal Islam. I only repudiate what i discerned to be "climbing over ones fault to see that of others", and as the saying goes "remove the log from your eyes before you remove the stick from others"

By the way, Quran does not stipulate death penalty for sorcery, neither was it advocated by Prophet Muhammad. Beside, I wonder on what ground they are prosecuting a Lebanese citizen who is only visiting Saudi on Pilgrimage (for a programme ran on Lebanese TV) + what kinda man do sorcery openly then head for a country where they behead Sorcerer??

The Quran position on Sorcery is lucid, it stated that those who practice sorcery(e.g magic, talisman, charm & amulet) will not prosper in this life nor in d hereafter: Quran 20:69, Quran 2:102, Quran 113:1–5, Qur'an 72:6
Though sorcery is a sin in Islam & d practice is explicitly forbidden but it does not carry death penalty. Does it?

YOUR ANALOGY, THE CONTRADICTIONS
In Nigeria constitution, advance fee fraud is a crime. Yet some Nigerians still do "419".  so therefore according to you
benodic:

truthfully reading such things in the news, in this modern times, if i were a Nigerian i will hang my head in shame or i will leave the country outright.

If that hold true, will it be justified to charge you guilty of fraud/419?, just because you are a Nigerian (given the fact that we all complain of the bad treatment meted to us when abroad) in light of the Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad, Eckankar's guiding text. or is that the interpretation of law of Karma & Reincarnation (i.e. blaming Islam for Saudi action, not minding that the two are mutually exclusive)
Re: Saudi To Behead Lebanese Convicted Of Witchcraft by benodic: 11:14pm On Apr 05, 2010
@airdig,

what you have to understand is that whether you like it or not a religion will be judged by the behaviour of its adherents.

if a religion claims to be a religion of peace then it's adherents should be seen to be peaceful without exceptions and if there are exception such people should be immediately called to order by the hierarchy of the religion.

the problem with both christianity and islam today is that there is no central control anymore. anybody can come up with his or her own interpretation of the holy scriptures and start harming people based on that interpretation and nobody can call the person to order.

so this is exactly what is happening in saudi arabia. they are making their own interpretations and carrying out nefarious actions. what makes it worse is that the country is where muslims go for their holy pilgrimage.

so whatever action they take will have a very big effect on people's perception of islam. this is the truth of the matter.
