There is no such thing as a budget Toyota in Nigeria.
Would have recommended a Matrix, but you might look for a Pontiac Vibe.

1.2M Naira is a lot of money, however, you might only be able to get:
2002 Toyota Corolla . . . . .Good on gas, easy to maintain, enough Toyota mechanic in Nigeria, resale value aint bad as well.
Would be tough to squeeze out a 2000 Camry of your budget, but you never can tell.
With another 300K+ you would be able to get a 2003 Corolla.

Just post another thread like "i need a 2003 from Cotonou for N1.2m" or something. But between you and me, be very careful, you might get taken. You might end up with a very questionable ride. If you end up with a ride at all.

It will be even tough to find a Naija used for that price at all. Or you might get a car with a very bad history, if not stolen. And if you do wanna get from Cotonou, make sure you don't fall into wrong hands.

Shipping and clearing a 2003 will be about N400,000 (Cotonou) and about N500,000 (Lagos). That leaves you with N800,000 to buy and make profit on a 2003 Camry. Very tough. I will stop short of saying "impossible"

All U.S specs cars in Cotonou have to come from the US, the only advantage you have is the clearing cost. Sometimes some people are lucky to come thru bushpath and get it to Lagos. That means no customs paper.

You get stopped 2 years down the road, and they ask you for customs paper, you don't have. Your ride get seized. You have to pay all over again.

I know you will like to save money. Everyone does. But you might just be postponing the inevitable of "paying it in future"

@nuttyImoh.That u have picked a toyota and nt any other product is a good decision, u are on the right track, Now i will advice u brotha 2go with a camry for the simple reason of availability of its spare parts, Its parts can be found anywhere and its relatively cheap as at compared to others lyk avalon or matrix, Listen carefully, gettin the car from cotonou is nt a good decision because:1.The risk of the car seized by customs btw the border and badagry is very high 2.Some of the cars there are either stolen or have a very bad history in terms of accidented veh, persistent mech issues etc 3.Hw sure are u of the agent?na naija we dey lol, Either Fhemmmy or KunleA are guys that have a good reputation of supplyn reliable vehicles negotiate with them for a camry product(frm 2000 upwards) u wudnt be disapointed with them.Good luck bro
