It gives structure. And clean codes (avoid cluster rough codes). Also if you get conversant with it, you could work faster.

The advantage of laravel and other php frameworks is basically the structure. If you do a project in laravel, I would be able to jump on it fast once because i know the laravel structure.

Unlike if you just code it as you like, you might have to start explaining the whole thing to another developer. Sometimes self you might not understand your code.

But in the end, its still the developer that matters. Laravel or any other framework doesn't make you a better programmer. But its standard practice to learn it for structure sake.

Aside from structure, frameworks give you some things for free... With the right commands and config settings, a lot of things are handled for you.

Example; php artisan make:auth command in laravel will generate boilerplate code for user authentication for you. this includes, registration, login, password reset, login throttling etc. Building ones user authentication from scratch is a big project on its own but with just one command, you have the basics in laravel.

Another one I love is error handling. You see, what happens when someone visits a link in your app that does not exist? Or your server responds with a 500 error? These are handled by laravel for you automatically. If you want total control over how those pages are displayed and for which errors, you're welcome to extend it.

And when it comes to building web services, your back is covered too!

So frameworks offer a lot... Most people don't even scraethe surface with their projects.
