Nigeria slumped to 22 in the latest FIFA ranking released on Wednesday from its 21st position three weeks ago on March 10.

While the idle Super Eagles dropped in the ranking, a busy African champions, Egypt, gained three places up, moving to 14th from 17th in the March 10 ranking.

The North Africans remain number one in Africa, while Nigeria are third on the continent.

The Egyptians played England in a Grade A international friendly in Wembley, going down 1-3 early this month. The Eagles only played Congo DR in Abuja, winning 5-2.

Cameroon are second in Africa and retained their 20th position in the world. The Indomitable Lions were held to a scoreless draw by world champions, Italy, in this month‘s international friendly.

Cote d‘Ivoire, who were beaten 2-0 by South Korea, slumped three places from 25 to 22nd, while Ghana‘s Black Stars, who lost to Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-1, also went down three places from 28 to 31 in the last ranking.

Algeria moved up five place places from 32 to to 27. The World Cup-bound Algerians lost their last international friendly 3-0 to Serbia.
