Aloma Mariam Mukhtar was an Alhaja who was a Chief Justice of Nigeria. She used a head covering which showed her hair as commanded by Islam and her ears were visible as commanded by law.

There are tons of Muslim judges, SANs, lawyers and magistrates who are Alhajas but didn't follow this madness.

What I see about this whole matter is just plain mischief. There are 3 compulsory dinners every aspirant to the Nigerian bar must attend while in the Law School. This lady didn't use her hijab to any of them but decided to wear it for her call to bar. If she wore hijabs to her dinners, she won't have been allowed to participate.

The idea behind wearing hijabs is to cover your unclothedness. When you do so, you're obeying the religious commandment. It doesn't matter if you're doing so with hijab, a nylon bag or you're wearing a canopy.

The Sultan is talking of hijabs here when his daughter who graduated from a University in the UK didn't wear a hijab. Since he's an Islamic leader, why didn't he allow her study law in Saudi?
Even Sani Yerima had his wife run to the US to give birth to his children after confusing paupers in Nigeria with his Sharia law.

These leaders would be pretending to be defenders of Islanm but they run to the US and UK when they want to give birth because they want to birth citizens. Why can't they go to Saudi?

Meanwhile this is one of his daughters graduating from the same law school without Hijab. Dear Nigerians isn't it time we tear down the oligarchy system we have now and build a truly Democratic, free and republican nation? We don't need these hypocritical pastors, sultans, emirs, imams or whatever they call themselves telling us what to do. We don't need them in our constitution either. Why must the poor and powerless be the ones to adhere to religious doctrine and these rich old elites roam free? Haven't you ever thought of that dear Nigerians?

Reacting to the controversy, the Sultan of Sokoto said he is yet to understand why the issue of Hijab would be so controversial to the extent that female Muslims who wear Hijab would be 'molested'. According to the monarch, Hijab simply means decent dressing for Muslim women and it is mandatory in Islam.

Was she forced to enroll for the Law school knowing its dress code and accepting to comply
Is the Sultan okay or he is trying to start a Jihad like Engineer Aregberascal?

The whole controversy made no sense, NBA suffers colonial hangover. They told firdusi it is a convention not a rule of law yet mund44 has been jumping from thread to thread to shouting it is NBA rule but they said it is convention not even a written rule how does a convention trumps the constitution?

It is clear that we have many terrorists in disguise terrorism in the heart people who will use every means to deprive Muslims of mudane rights others enjoy in other parts of the world, the only thing holding them back is their cowardice.

I repeat is it not Bokoharam when you work hard this hard to deprive Muslims ladies of their rights to education.

I am a muslim and I believe this issue is just for publicity. There are ways we could have done this legally or morally by muslim bodies to first call the attention of NBA through formal letter and we can even go to court to address it. Dont let people always see us as terrorist or trouble maker or Boko Haram by creating scenes where we can solve the problem like brothers and sisters. NBA is not a christian body. Some of our muslim brethren are also part of NBA and they have not been allowing this. Our duty is to call their attention before we break their rule. Islam means peace and we are warned in the Holy Quran to respect constituted authority.

See this man forming like he respects human rights, how come in their Sharia court women are not allowed.

All these Muslims are just being hypocritical,in Sharia courts they have laid down rules that you must obey and nobody has complained but when it comes to this one they are opening their mouths shouting oppression.

They should watch their life o.

The sultan should return the missing 700 million and ask his Fulani brethren to stop behaving like vampires.
After that we can take him seriously.

If he had spoken, you would not have heard anyways. You wouldn't have known. But eminent people from his region, religous leaders spoke against the burning of the mosque. I think that should surfice for you, if you're not looking for something else.

The Bar if we all want to be honest behaved like small minded people.
