RATTAWU Vows To Resist Sale Of National Assets by actiondrilling: 10:39am On Dec 20, 2017
Radio Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU, says it will resist any attempt to sell National assets such as

the National Theatre, Igamu Lagos, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, the Nigerian Television Authority, Voice of Nigeria, among others.

In a resolution reached at the end of its meeting in Abuja, the Union said that anyone who does not remit check off dues to it, will henceforth not benefit from weigh-in allowance, adding that no State Council or Chapter should under any guise secure loans from Banks without approval from the National Secretariat of the Union.

It warned that any organ of the Union that does not remit the actual deducted dues meant for National Secretariat should be sanctioned.
According to the Union, its 2011 Constitution as amended , stated that check-off dues shall henceforth be on two per cent of consolidated salaries.
It maintained that there shall be periodic audit of all accounts of the Union at both State council and chapter levels.
The resolution which was signed by its Deputy-President, Comrade Pascmon Mgbebe and General Secretary Comrade Akpauso, affirmed that the suspended Chairman and Secretary of the Union in Taraba State have been removed from their various offices due to financial recklessness and mal- administration.
