The once-thriving Ndiagu Amofia in Umuhu autonomous community, Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzu local government area of Enugu State, now lies desolate and abandoned. SOMETIMES, WEN WE IGBO ARE TALKING TO OTHER IGBOS, WE WISH TO JOIN MINDS SO WE CAN SEE EVERYTHING IN EACH OTHER MIND AND HEAD. THAT IS HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO DEALING WITH IGBO PEOPLE. Abufo: as for fulani, that is an army being funded by Saudi Arabia. They are across all Africa trying to islamise and kill everybody. They are in Nigeria military doing black ops on our people their in the villages. Basically coordinating attacks and interchanging with Fulani. Yet our legislature are carrying big head up and down pretending not to know what is going on. I can predict they will say it is Enugu problem, forgetting it is everywhere and coming south towrads Anambra. 3 Likes |

Stolen: I agree intoto....Soludo has surprised me sha! he needs to speak up on Pan Igbo issues a lot more! He is trying anyway!........I suspect Soludo wants his work to speak for him! On the proposed intra-city railway I heard of.........I would prefer he shelves the idea and do a BRT system instead.........It is cheaper to build and maintain and carries far more people than the so-called rail system! The Lagos BRT carries far more people than the so-called blue and red line rail lines....just saying!! what we need in the southeast is a sub-regional rail system........starting from Onne Port via Aba! 1 Like |

Abufo: The railway is revolutionery, they are trying to oppress us with it, but if Soludo pulls itt of f, Enugu will folllow, then Ebonyi, Imo, Abia. Whenever Federal government decides, let them add to it. Bus in Anambra is private business for poor indigenes, Soludo want to leave that for them for now. 1 Like |

Abufo: A sub regional railway is linking up each SE state railway. So u see Soludo is on track. I guarantee you the competitive spririt of our people will cause other state to start building railway if Soludo pulls it off. At the end, all we have to do is lay tracks linking them all together and you have sub-regional railway. Then we wait for the fedearl to join them. 1 Like |

Stolen: Rail is a great plan but a government with a 200m usd budget cannot pull it off. Anambra needs to work with FGN and use its budget and Chinese loans. The FGN has built Lagos - Ibadan and Abuja - Kaduna. They should build Lagos to Onitsha - Awka - Enugu as a start. |

President Tinubu Flags-Off 35 Kilometers Road Linking Anambra To Second Niger Bridge, By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent) President Bola Tinubu has flagged off construction of the second Niger Bridge road linking Delta and Anambra states, Phase 2B. The President, who was represented by the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, performed the flagoff at Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area. The thirty-five kilometres road with seven flyovers and bridge and a width of thirty-five to forty-six meters will connect Atani through Obosi, Nkpor, and terminate in Ogbunike. Governor Soludo stated that completion of the humongous project will connect several communities, by-passing Onitsha and have a lot of impact on the life of ndị Anambra. While stressing that politics is about public good, Governor Soludo hinted that such partnership between Anambra state government and the federal government for the development of the southeast will lead to maximised benefits to the common man. The Governor appreciated the President for the project, admonishing that it is through continuous support for him that ndị Anambra can get more dividends. The Minister for Works, Engr. Dave Umahi who revealed that the project will benefit those travelling down from Lagos, said that the road will have cameras and solar powered streetlights, adding that thirty percent mobilization has been approved and released to the contractors. He described Governor Soludo as a key leader who has mainstreamed innovation in the governance of Anambra State, congratulated him on his successful three years in office, calling on the people to keep praying and supporting the President and Governor. The Southern General Manager of CGC Nigeria Limited, Carlos Chen, handling the project, extended his gratitude to the President and Governor of Anambra state for giving them the honour to contribute to the quality of life of the people assuring that the project will be completed on time in line with international best practices. The Chairman of Anambra state Traditional Rulers' Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, said that they have been looking forward to the completion of the project, which has a lot of benefits to the people. Mammoth jubilating crowd comprising locals, attended the ceremony. #absradiotelevision 2 Likes

abuzz33: I still believe that if we are talking of intrastate mass transit, a well-planned BRT transit corridor will serve Anambra better than an expensive mass transit rail, with expensive tracks, signaling, locos, and coaches, and electrified tracks if we go full electric mode. I will only support rail if it is a southeast regional network! The blue line in Lagos is just okay, but the red line from Iddo to Agbada is a near-shipwreck. A BRT corridor can be served by multiple Bus companies...using mass transit buses running on CNG or they can buy Electric buses from BYD! We have a knack of throwing money at problems when simpler and more elegant solutions are readily available...my 2 cents sha! 1 Like |

Punch Newspapers https://punchng.com/pictorial-anambra-drug-traders-protest-nafdacs-market-closure/ PICTORIAL: Anambra drug traders protest market closure by NAFDAC Governor Soludo should please intervene on behalf of these traders. Criminal Nafdac officials invaded their market. They steal and loot goods and drugs worth billions of naira in the name of fighting fake drugs. Criminal Nafdac carry those goods to trucks and carry them at midnight into an unknown destination where they sell it and make money from it. Yet, Nafdac is still charging those traders 2 million for their shop to be open. Where will they see the 2 million when they shop has been closed for two months. If Nafdac claims that they fighting fake drugs in the market, then why are they demanding for the traders to pay 2 million for their shop to be open after their so called investigation is over. Is so sad that Nafdac is now used to fight their imaginary political enemies and opponents. Nafdac has now descended low like police, Efcc and customs where they arrest and frame people, loot and steal their goods and also ask them to pay huge fines for them or their goods to be released. This is what Criminal Nafdac is doing to those traders at ogbo ogwu market. Soludo should intervene |

Abufo: Let ANSG first do planned bus service in cities with stops and schedules before BRT. About rail I see a lot of ignorance in what I posted earlier. Building a 45km rail line between Onitsha and Awka will cost over $500m. Even if you got 10,000 passengers a day paying 1,500 naira that's only $10k a day, $3.65m a year. It would take over 100 years to pay back just the debt minus maintenance. It is lack of calculation is why Abuja - Kaduna is a white elephant subsidized by FGN. That rail line built by Namadi Sambo barely does 3,000 passengers a day. Rail only makes financial sense if there is a cargo component which is why anything Anambra builds should link to Lagos which like it or not has the country's biggest port, the country's biggest refinery and the country's largest markets. Furthermore why should FGN spend billions building Lagos - Abuja - Kaduna while Anambra with its puny budget should fend for itself? Time to fight for our right in this federation. The FGN rail masterplan connects Lagos - Benin - Onitsha and they should spend the money. 2 Likes |

There are many ways to fund "capital intensive" projects like railway without overcharging the passengers or struggling to pay back loans. The state government could help lease the surrounding lands along the railway lines (up to a quarter of it) to railway investors at very low rate or free of charge. The investors could build or/& rent out the lands for real-estate, agric, hotels, recreation centers and other profitable ventures. These can help in paying back the loan. By the way, the leased lands, if well developed could serve as tourist attractions to passengers who may even pay higher to view or visit them No need to over focus on Lagos or Abuja when the East can be way better in a short time. You could start considering those places when igboland have been well developed. Development should be from inside-out rather than outside first. Charity begins at home 2 Likes |

IgboProgress: Economies are all about connectivity. A rail line to Lagos expands access to market. Igbos should not be limited. Soludo and all SE gov should campaign for the SEDC to get federal money on their books to build that railway that connects major SE cities to Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. Na Nigeria we dey. Same goes for gas pipelines which have all bypassed the SE. The sooner we fight for our right the better off we will be. After all when it comes down to paying off Nigerias debt they don't ask whether it's SE or SW. Everyone pays for it together. 1 Like |

abuzz33: I believe the South East market is big enough to sustain the region... It needs to be further developed. Some top priority needs that could make urgent external expansions necessary are easy access to raw materials, natural resources and import and export. Once the internal market is well developed, big expansions to other regions will happen naturally and no one will think you are coming to their regions in search of greener pasture. I want the railway idea to be viable enough for investors especially from Igbo Nation to show interest. It's important to minimize the risk of borrowing to fund projects that end up unprofitable just like some unprofitable projects that currently exist in Nigeria. You should also consider what will become of transporters like ABC, Peace, Ifesinachi etc with cheap government owned trains. The private sector should help run the trains. Concerning the bolded part... The so called Nigeria debt will end up hurting those who benefitted from it without paying back. Beside, the debt is not equally distributed like they want some to believe. What you owe is proportional to how much you benefitted from. You owe no one any debt if you: * contribute more than you borrow or take from others. * don't take what belongs to others without giving back. This is why it's important to work hard, spend mostly on things/people that would be profitable enough to promptly pay back what was invested in them. * don't spend or overspend unnecessarily. Whoever takes away what you did not owe is actually owing you. If they owe you you gain more advantage over them. So no one can charge or overcharge you what you didn't owe without you graining something in return. This is deep things of life most people are ignorant of 4 Likes |

Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Abufo: 3:02am On Mar 28 |
Brethren, The State Of The Igbo Nation is not too good, it is not as bad as it was 6 months ago, but we are not out of the woods yet! The aboki and agbado conspiracy to render us politically and economically irrelevant continues apace........ it is like our political and economic elite are in a state of complete mental paralysis..........This is especially bad at the national level.....if our senators are not doing a solo walk out of parliament....they are making an ass of themselves in abuja...........like the douchebag rep from abia that turned a Muslim over night and started beating up bold drivers! The other day Senator Nwaebony took leave of his dignity as a man to start fighting an Igbo grandmother.....that was obscene, no matter the provocation from the attention seeker Oby Ezekwesili! Our current set of Governors gives me hope, but we must not tire of pointing the way forward to them! But my biggest fear is not even in the political sphere but in the economy of Ndigbo......I am not yet sure but I am beginning to feel that we are beginning to lose ground in the commercial and informal sector that served so well in the past! Guys watch this video of the current Chinese invasion of the commercial and trading sector of our economy.....in fact they are already moving into the manufacturing sector as well! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34woI_H3nTc Wither the industrial site and services that Soludo promised? Seeing that we cannot compete with the Chinese in Importing and trade, we can at least try to attract Chinese manufacturers to the Anambra market economy. As you can see from the video, Lagos is attracting most of the new Chinese manufacturing companies. The Southeast has been made an economic wasteland on purpose, and unfortunately, some of our governors are so naive it beggars belief! Soludo is on track, but instead of spending 300 million dollars on a moribund railway, why not invest that money in a BRT and power generating or transmission scheme...............and of course build an industrial park! 4 Likes |
