Though they have all accepted it generally as being part of Onitsha metro, then again what is your business in what they accept or reject? You deserve hot slaps. [s] MXrep:[/s] 1 Like |

Just shut up nwokem, official gazzete or not, cities expand and swallow up smaller ones. Some areas in Ogun state that overlapped with Lagos is now considered to be Lagos because of proximity. No one in Akute Ogun state will tell you that he is not in Lagos. The same thing is happening in Onitsha where people at Nkpor, Ogidi, Nkwelle, Ogbaru, Obosi, etc, will automatically tell you that they are in Onitsha. [s] MXrep:[/s] 4 Likes |

Mechionu, you don't need to see any where in Ogidi written Onitsha, the point is that once you are in Ogidi it is considered that you are within the Onitsha metro. [s] MXrep:[/s] |

Stop spitting rubbish. Onitsha city has expanded to becoming a mega metropolis because it has swallowed up the surrounding towns. The name of the expanding metropolis is known as ONITSHA. Get that into your nsukka big empty head. [s] MXrep:[/s] 1 Like |

It does not need to be officially gazetted because we all know already that Nkpor, Obosi, Nkwelle, Ogidi, Ogbunike, Obosi etc are all part and parcel of Onitsha metro, thereby making the city the largest in the SE. [s] MXrep:[/s] |

You don't know that, because you are neither from Ogidi nor Anambra. Someone from Ogidi has just confirmed that they are part and parcel of Onitsham metro, that is the same thing we all know all along. Awada is in Idemili LGA but today anyone in Awada is also in Onitsha. [s] MXrep:[/s] 1 Like |

MXrep has a valid point. You dare not erect any signboard in Ogidi and write Onitsha below it. The Youths will burn it down. Same is Applicable to Obosi and Nkpor. It is acceptable that Parts of Iyienu, Ikenga, Nkwelle Ogidi are within Onitsha metropolis, but this is only for academic purposes. For practical purposes, you will never be allowed to call any part of Ogidi, Onitsha. Doing so will give the impression that Ogidi is under (inferior) to Onitsha. A proud Ogidi will never accept that. It will always be called Building material market Ogidi, Idemili North LGA, Anambra. You will never see Onitsha appended there. Same is applicable to Nkpor and Obosi. Why should it be Ogidi, Onitsha? Why can't it be Onitsha, Ogidi? And by the way, we have Awada Obosi and Awada Onitsha. Obosi people will never allow you append the name Onitsha to their own part of Awada, I na awu Ala? I believe the right thing is to get a new neutral name for the entire new city now comprising of Onitsha town, Obosi, Nkpor,Ogidi, Nkwerre ezunaka, Ogbunike, Ogbaru, etc acceptable to all stake holders, like Portharcourt serves for all Ikwerre towns, Okrika towns, Ogoni towns within the metropolis, instead of maybe trying to force the name "Rebisi" on everyone. Enugu is also another example of a neutral name which encompasses many independent towns, such as Ngwo, Nike, Amechi, Ugwuaji, Akwuke, who form the Enugu metropolis. You would agree with me that it would have been hard to get all these independent towns to accept officially, the name "Ngwo", to serve for everyone . A neutral name should be looked for the new city. This whole greater Onitsha thing, hmmm, it will not work o! Onitsha people sabi drag land, if you name the place Onitsha Now, tomorrow they will start claiming it. Biko, ka onye obuna zaa afa nna ya o! 3 Likes |

You are known for writing long rubbish. Below is Onitsha Naval Base in Onitsha. You always pander to suit outsiders. Please explain this sign post. The whole of Awada is located in Idemili but today because of encroachment of Onitsha metro, Awada is now called part of Onitsha metro. The same thing happened at Nkpor, Ogidi, Obosi, Nkwelle etc. These areas maybe what they want to be but human subconscious have made people to consider those places part and parcel of Onitsha metro whether those area agrees to it or not. pazienza: 4 Likes

Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by MxreR: 5:29pm On Mar 06, 2019 |
I gave you example. Naval Base is in Ogbaru but the signpost says that it is Onitsha. This brings us to the point, I was making that all those areas including Ogidi, Nkwelle, Obosi etc are now part of Onitsha metro. pazienza: |
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by MxreR: 5:30pm On Mar 06, 2019 |
For instance even in Christendom. There is one Bishop called Bishop on the Niger(Onitsha metropolis), this bishop oversees all those areas that formed part of Onitsha metroplis. |
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by pazienza(m): 5:32pm On Mar 06, 2019 |
MxreR: I don't know for Ogbaru people. But I know you can't erect any signpost in Obosi, Oba Nkpor, Umuoji, Ogidi and write it Onitsha. No one will tolerate it in Idemili, anyone telling you it will be tolerated here, is just playing to gallery. 4 Likes |
