The Nigeria Police has barred Special Anti Robbery Squad operatives from conducting stop and search on roads across the country. The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, who disclosed this after a meeting with commanders of the Police Anti-Robbery Squad, at the Force Headquarters Abuja, also stopped them from acting as bodyguard to prominent Nigerians and has directed all operatives of the anti-robbery unit to always appear in official uniforms, for proper identification.
