The Tottenham forward chose 2017 christmas boxing day to break series of records in an outstanding masterclass against Southampton which saw him score a hat trick in a 5-2 thriller.

Before the match he was on level terms with English football legend, Alan Shearer with 36 goals as the most goals in a calendar year since 1995, which he now owns with 39 goals.

The sensational Spur is also the first player in the history of premier league to score 6 hat-tricks in a calendar year as well as the 6th player to score a hat-trick on boxing day premier league fixture.The last time was in 2012 when Gareth Bale scored a hat-trick.

More so he also outpaced Lionel messi’s 54 goals for the most goals in Europe with 56 goals in 2017 calendar year.

English legend and former record holder, Alan Shearer took to twitter to congratulate his compatriot on his historic achievement saying

“You’ve had a magnificent 2017 @HKane. You deserve to hold the record of most

If 24-year-old Kane can maintain his current pace and avoid injury that record is well within his range. He has shown progress each season since scoring 3 Premier League goals in 2013/14. He hit 21 the following season then followed that with 25 goals and 29 goals in 2016/17.
