The stadium should be renovated purely for Athletics events.
That Stadium was not purpose built for football. Nigeria is yet to have a purpose built football ground

Just like they did with Lagos, Calabar and Kano. They'll soon finish with Akwa Ibom stadium and move on when a new stadium is built. How about having a maintenance culture? Too many eediots are in charge of sports in Nigeria.

Apart from Lagos...the rest are state owned stadia...NFA has no hand in the maintenance

NFF is a major stakeholder. It doesn't take rocket science to know that they need to work better with government to have well maintained stadia. If a stadium in Nigeria doesn't meet requirements for a game, FIFA or CAF won't sanction any State. NFF will answer for it

Exactly! I wonder what the man was saying sef. That stadium hosted the finals of Fifa Under 20 World Cup (Nigeria 99) which saw many world stars like Ronaldinho, Seydou Keita and others

Richy4:
How can that lovely stadium lack facility.I mean the stadium is world class and was also "camera friendly " Besides if there are no facility, is it wise to abandon it like that and allow cows to graze on it?

The previous matches that was played in that stadium, did the players dress outside? because the foreign players we were hosting would have complained about it..

Assuming he said that Abuja people doesn't care much about watching matches live, One can understand that.. because lots of time we saw almost an empty stadium..and they don't usually realise the much needed revenue like Uyo.
