Dis Guy:I will be the last person to promte Medicrity, if i did not know what i was saying i wont come and post here. For your information, This Minister refused to sponsor all the fake Conferences and all the rubbish of Mushroom youth organizations chosing instead to work directly with youth organizations that are in the real development sector. Really If you want to condemn someone first find out about the person first. Its not my positon to defend anyone but this minster is going somewhere in that ministry, before now a cabal hijacked the youth ministry, just conducting stupid workshops and going on fereign trips, now The National Youth council is alomst non existant because he has refused to fund their cooked up programmes, he works with organizations that have phsical projects. plus the National Youth Employement plan should be fully implemented by septemebr, maybe then we will talk |

We thank God that the Acting President has finally put a cabinet in place. It should go beyond constituting a cabinet but the cabinet members most be proactive in discharging their duties to the country, although, the Acting President is the one that appointed them and their service should be to the country (Nigeria). Furthermore, the National Assembly should critically look at their oversight role so that the Executive arm of the government can be put in proper check. The Minister of Petroleum should do something tangible in NNPC and PPRA, to me the two agencies needs to be look into and see the role these agencies have been playing in our oil sector which is vital to Nigerian Economy |

Diezani alone in d petroleum ministry spells doom mayb dats y Jonathan moved by sackin d corrupt Barkindo who cld frustrate her efforts but Jo shld hav given her Ogienwonyi as minista of state so dat her xperience nd relationship wit shell wld be balanced by his xperience nd relationship wit d NNPC, or Ajumogobia cld hav gone it alone in dat ministry. Do I sense Jonathan sharin portfolios based on d loyalty membas had shown him, Adetokunbo Defence, Maduekwe Petroleum Orubebe Niger Delta Dora Info nd Comm nd wit d apointment of Labaran as her deputy I think she may concentrate on Communications where she had a runnin battle with Ndukwe nd leave Information to Labaran. Those who complained of d north dominance of d finance ministry nd Oil ministry wat do u hav to say 2 2 yorubas holdin forte @ d finance ministry, dats y I always advocate dat state of origin shld not be the basis of our arguements but merit and we can't do witout federal character, federal character is obeyed and we still have good materials in d ministry. |

aisha2: thats because there was not alot to share around anyway, money in that 'unnecessary' ministry is meagre compared to the amount of work and dedication required. This same guy was responsible for the now non functioning website where people are told to buy scratch card to look for vacancies. this ministry apparently sponsored an internet conference/forum for the youths of the nation to discuss their problems with the government of the country wtf |

Nothing much to say, i hope the captain has selected the best crews to work with him. In the nearest future we would be able to judge them based on their achievement and results. I pray they take their oath serious to serve the nation and not to serve themselves. I recommend his choice of Deziani Alison-Madueke as the Petroleum Resources Minister, which shows his commitment to the peace agreement in ND. |

Igbos have been sidelined once again in the scheme of things. How many Igbo ministers are there? Just 3 Igbo ministers heading very "Unimportant" ministries. Whatever happened to Federal character, or is it conveniently thrown out of the window when it comes to the Igbo tribe? Anyways when all is said and done, the most important thing is that the appointed ministers perform and bring this nation out of the morass it has found itself in. As for me even if all the ministers are from a single tribe, if they can provide the basic amenities and infrastructure then I am all for it. However for the sake of fair play, Igbos should not be made to feel like second class citizens. |

sevule: These are the infantile points of view that have gotten us so deep in despair as a nation. How will more Igbo ministers improve the power situation? Or put a stop to the rising crime wave? We need to wake up in this country. Governor Pot-belly's is stealing all your state's resources ,screwing all the available virgins in town & you're here crying for more Igbos in the cabinent. . .TAI ! TUFIAKAWA ! |

Dis Guy: Nigerians will never learn, What Nigerians have to start doing is holding there local and state official accountable instead of always looking to the Federal Central Govt, Change is not coming from the top, so it has to start @ the bottom ie @ Local Govt & State Gov Level, Dis guy, u got it right!!! |

Re: Jonathan Inaugurates New Cabinet (Full List) by sevule(m): 4:09pm On Apr 08, 2010 |
illusion2:I do believe I was objective in my last post. Basically what I pointed out was that Igbos form at least 25% - 33% of Nigeria's population and amongst over 20 ministers only 3 people of Igbo affiliation were appointed. I stand to be corrected but once again Igbo people have gotten the short end of the stick with regards to appointments. PLS NOTE that I stand for merit as the yardstick for appointments but in a country like ours that has enshrined federal character in its policy making, and conveniently discards it when it comes to appointments, intelligent questions should be asked of a government that was elected by the people. |
Re: Jonathan Inaugurates New Cabinet (Full List) by illusion2: 8:18am On Apr 10, 2010 |
sevule: No 1. Your statistics of Ndigbo forming '25%-33%' of Nigeria is probably flawed . No 2. Your previous arguments was that 3 Igbo Ministers were heading 'unimportant ministries' whatever that means. For your information the cabinet MUST have a total of 6 Igbos (one each from Abia,Anamba,Ebonyi,Enugu& Imo + one rep South East geo-political zone) and there names are listed below : Dora Akunyili (Anambra) - Information (the face of the FG,oversees NBC,NCC ,mobile communications licensing etc) Mrs. Fidelia Njeze (Imo) -Aviation (FAAN,NAMA,NCAA ,Airlines etc) Emmanuel Iheanacho (Abia) -Interior (oversees Customs,Immigration&Prisons) Chukwuemeka Ngozichineke Wogu (Enugu)-Labour (needs no intro) Josephine Anenih(South East) - Women's Affairs Ebonyi rep still to be confirmed due too political intrigues at state level . So my friend its not about what the Acting President wants, but about the law of the land(Fed character etc) QED So as per my previous post, lets stop bothering about whether someone that speaks our language is in government & care more about SERVICE DELIVERT itself ! You will not gain personally from the individuals above ,unless your are related to them in someway. But we all gain if they do their jobs properly. Lets let go of myopic primordial sentiments. . . . . , |
