it's an actual offence in Nigeria. It's why Aunty Kemi Olunloyo is still in jail till now.
I hate ladies that try to make men look like devils, and use rape threats as a bargaining chip to cower guys. From what I gather, the "rape incident" did not occur recently, and I doubt that she immediately reported to a police station, so she basically has no case, any good lawyer will successfully defend the guy.

I hate this girl, not because she is trying to tarnish a guy's image, but because because of her, people will not believe actual rape victims anymore.

To falsely accuse someone of an offence is one of the worst possible offences you can commit in a civilized society. In the context of rape consider the following points:

1. To accuse someone falsely of rape that means you want that person to experience the full punishment of a rapist. Why should you suffer less than the harm you plotted for another? The retributive function of justice still operates largely on the basis of an eye for an eye.
2. You have wasted the time and resources of the justice system, which is a drainage of public resources that makes it difficult for the system to function effectively. As a result of prioritizing your false allegations, an innocent persons case somewhere was stalled (the police cannot pursue all cases with equal fervor at the same time). You must be punished severely for this.
3. You make life difficult for genuine victims of rape, and make it easier for real rapists to claim that their victim is lying.

These are three separate but equally grave ramifications. Liars should be punished even more severely than actual rapists.

Your number 1 and 3 points are probably the biggest reason why I hate false rape victims. They make it very difficult for real rape victims to prove their case and most women are too daft to realise that false rape victims do more harm to real rape victims.
